Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are preparing for their ninth NFL season together, eyeing a fourth Super Bowl win.

Following the Chiefs' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Kelce, 35, took some time to decide his NFL future. However, he elected to return to Kansas City for his 13th season.

“My dog!!!" Kelce said in a text to ESPN's Pat McAfee. "I'm coming back for sure. Gonna try and get to the best shape I've been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop. Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can't go out like that!!!!”

Now, Kelce and Mahomes have made their way back to Kansas City to begin offseason workouts, including organized team activities (OTAs) and this week's mandatory minicamp.

On Wednesday, during the second day of Chiefs minicamp, both Mahomes and Kelce addressed the media. The Pro Bowl tight end briefly touched on his future with Kansas City beyond the 2025 season, but according to KSHB 41’s McKenzie Nelson, Mahomes said the two hadn’t discussed it.

"Mahomes says he and Kelce never talked about his potential retirement," Nelson wrote on X.

Kelce and Mahomes have become one of the best quarterback-pass catcher duos in NFL history, bringing the Chiefs to seven-straight AFC championships and five Super Bowls, along with winning three rings.

However, time certainly wasn't friendly to Kelce last season despite making his 10th Pro Bowl. He finished with 97 catches for 823 yards and three touchdowns, one of the worst statistical seasons of his long career.

Mandatory minicamp will end on Thursday, and the Chiefs' training camp will begin on July 21. They will kick off the regular season in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept 5.
