The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens face off on Sunday in a high-powered AFC matchup between two Super Bowl contenders.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn't been all that impressive, completing 62-of-105 passes for 669 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. That's not too bad, but it's not up to the usual standard of the two-time MVP.

As a three-time Super Bowl champion, he's earned several notable nicknames. The Chiefs often use them on social media, including "Primetime Patrick," and "The Magic Man."

However, Mahomes has one nickname that's been around since he was a child, and it's "Showtime."

Before taking on the Ravens, the Chiefs opted to showcase that nickname, posting a photo of the quarterback arriving at Arrowhead Stadium, writing "Showtime Mahomes."

In an article from The Star's Brooke Pryor in 2018, he revealed his love for the simple nickname, saying, “I like Showtime. It’s what I had growing up, so we’ll stick with that one.”

According to Business Insider, he earned the nickname from his father as a child "because of his athletic skill," which has obviously continued into his professional career.

The Chiefs are undoubtedly hoping he continues to live up to it against the Ravens, as they look to avoid a disappointing 1-3 start. A loss to Baltimore would make keeping their 10-year playoff streak alive extremely difficult.

Currently, ESPN BET places the Ravens as 2.5-point favorites, despite also being 1-2 to start the season.

Mahomes is getting a big boost, though, with the expected return of wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who has been out since suffering a dislocated shoulder in Week 1.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium, airing on CBS.
