The Kansas City Chiefs selected cornerback Mansoor Delane with the sixth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs traded up with the Cleveland Browns to get the sixth overall pick, sending the No. 9, No. 74, and the No. 148 overall picks in the draft.
Delane started his collegiate career at Virginia Tech and played for three seasons before transferring to LSU for the 2025 season. He had a fantastic year for the Tigers, finishing with 45 total tackles, 11 passes defended, and two interceptions.
He finished his collegiate career with 191 total tackles, 27 passes defended, four forced fumbles, and eight interceptions.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has already won three Super Bowls with the team, is pretty excited about the pick.
"Let’s get it!" Mahomes posted.

Delane will likely start right away for the Chiefs since he was considered the top cornerback in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs will try to make another run at the Super Bowl next season after missing the playoffs this past season. They had made the playoffs for 10 straight seasons before that streak snapped.
The Chiefs had also played in three straight Super Bowls before finishing 6-11. They're hoping that Mahomes will be ready to go for their season opener in September after he tore his ACL and LCL back on Dec. 14. He underwent surgery for the injury and is currently rehabbing.
You can watch the rest of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft on ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network.
