Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Personal News Involving Travis Kelce on Monday

The Kansas City Chiefs enter the 2025 NFL season with high hopes following a sour end to their 2024 campaign — a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce both had subpar individual seasons by their lofty standards, but the veteran leaders of Andy Reid's offense are hoping to bounce back with the help of a re-tooled offensive line and healthy seasons from the likes of Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco.

As Mahomes and Kelce rekindle their historic partnership on the field, they have plenty to be excited about off the field.

On Monday, their brand new Kansas City steakhouse, appropriately named 1587 Prime, revealed the date of its grand opening.

Opening night for 1587 Prime is Wednesday, Sept. 17 — which happens to be Mahomes' birthday.

"30th Birthday Party?!?!" Mahomes commented.

There would be plenty to celebrate. Mahomes' 89 regular season wins are more than any other quarterback in NFL history before age 30.

He could set the record as high as 91 ahead of the grand opening, which falls between Week 2 and Week 3 of the 2025 season, after the Chiefs have played the Los Angeles Chargers and the Eagles.

Mahomes and Kelce: Chiefs Partners On and Off the Field

The announcement from 1587 Prime embodies the partnership of Kelce and Mahomes perfectly: "Precision in every detail. Power in every bite."

The three-time Super Bowl winners hold the NFL record for most postseason touchdowns between two players with 17. Their 54 touchdown connections is the most between a quarterback and pass catcher in Chiefs franchise history.

Both players have set themselves up for success with business ventures off the field as well. Mahomes has invested heavily in sports team ownership, buying into ownership groups of the Kansas City Royals (MLB), Sporting Kansas City (MLS), Kansas City Current (NWSL) and Alpine Formula One.

Kelce has launched a career in the entertainment industry alongside his relationship with music icon Taylor Swift. He built a $100 million podcast, "New Heights," with his brother Jason Kelce, appeared in television shows like "Grotesquerie" and "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?" and recently had a role in the Netflix movie, "Happy Gilmore 2."

The launch of their restaurant is evidence of another perfect connection between Mahomes and Kelce.
