On Saturday afternoon the Kansas City Chiefs amassed just 212 yards of offense against the Houston Texans, but ended up walking out with a double-digit win.
Despite being outgained by over 100 yards, the Chiefs escaped with a 23-14 victory and clinched a spot in the AFC title game once again. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who completed 16-of-25 passing for 177 yards with a touchdown, praised star tight end Travis Kelce after the game.
"This is what he lives for, is playing in these moments, having the chance to make big-time plays," Mahomes said of Kelce, who had all but 60 yards of Mahomes' entire passing yardage with seven receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown.
"He goes out there and does that, and it seems like he does it in every single playoff game. He doesn't let the moment be bigger than what it is. He just goes out there and executes at a high level just like he does in a regular-season game. He just does that with a little bit higher intensity."
While Mahomes praising Kelce was one of the highlights from his postgame press conference, it didn't compare to his children, Sterling and Bronze, interrupting with constant chatter. "Why we talking so much? Come on Bronze!" Mahomes said as he walked away from the podium to collect his kids before leaving the room.
The moment went viral, racking up over one million views in just 13 hours. On Sunday morning the star quarterback took to social media to react to the viral moment with a heart emoji.
