Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs (6-7) have hit a rough stretch of games as of late, with Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Houston Texans (8-5) marking the team's fourth loss in its last five games.

Mahomes is heralded as one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game, but the Texans' defense quite possibly forced him to have one of the worst games of his career. Mahomes completed 14-of-33 passes (42.4%), while being limited to a season low 160 yards passing, and also throwing a season-high three interceptions with no touchdowns.

With Mahomes and the Chiefs on the outside looking in of the playoffs, head coach Andy Reid was asked for a message he'd give to his three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback on Wednesday. As expected, the veteran head coach made it clear that Mahomes is doing what the team needs, and also offered some advice.

"He's great," Reid said via Chalres Goldman. "He's coming to work. Keeps his head up at all times. He understands he's in a leadership position and he's a good leader… You continue to get better… You don't hang your head."

The Chiefs will have a chance to avenge its first loss of the season on Sunday as they will be hosting the Los Angeles Chargers (9-4), who beat them 27-21 in Brazil in Week 1. This weekend's game will kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET and air on CBS.
