Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are riding high after the team's 31-0 Week 7 beatdown of the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The win saw the Chiefs move to 4-3 on the season, while dropping their AFC West foe to 2-5.
Mahomes, 30, has been on a tear over the past few weeks, and Sunday's win was another instance of that. He completed 26-of-35 (74.3%) passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns, marking the second straight week he has thrown for at least 250 yards and accounted for three passing touchdowns and no interceptions.
While Mahomes is thriving on the field, he has also found success in his charitable efforts off the field.
Monday evening, the two-time MVP's foundation held its sixth annual 15 and the Mahomies Gala. His foundation, established in 2019, is predicated on helping the youth in underprivileged situations.
"15 and the Mahomies is dedicated to improving the lives of children," reads the website. "The Foundation supports initiatives that focus on health, wellness, communities in need of resources and other charitable causes."
During Monday's gala, which was held at the Kansas City Convention Center, it was revealed that Mahomes' foundation had raised over $1.5 million to be distributed to over 20 charities.
This development comes just days after it was revealed that Mahomes' Volunteer for 15 initiative saw a boom in kids volunteering. As announced by his foundation, nearly 93,000 hours of service were completed across the world thanks to the collaboration with the Youth Volunteer Corps.
Mahomes is clearly putting his 10-year, $450 million contract extension that he signed in 2020 to great use.
As for his success on the field, Mahomes will have a chance to keep his hot streak alive on Monday, as the Chiefs will be hosting Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders (3-4).
