Patrick Mahomes Skipped Team Event After Blowout Loss In Super Bowl 59

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs didn't just lose Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles, they were downright embarrassed from start to finish.

Mahomes finished Super Bowl LIX with 257 passing yards and three touchdowns, but his stat line is very misleading. Almost all of his production came after the Eagles had a 34-0 lead in the second half. Of course, we can't forget that Mahomes had two picks, with one being returned for a touchdown. The three-time Super Bowl champion also had a fumble in the fourth quarter.

After Super Bowl LIX went final, Mahomes gave the Eagles credit for putting together an elite defensive performance.

"Credit to the Eagles man, they played better than us from start to finish," Mahomes said. "We didn't start how we wanted to. Obviously, the turnovers hurt. I take all the blame for that. Those early turnovers swing the momentum of the game. They capitalized on them, they scored on one and they got a touchdown immediately after. That's 14 points that I kind of gave them, and it's hard to come back from that when you're in the Super Bowl."

Mahomes received credit for fielding questions from the media Sunday night. That being said, he did skip one his postgame events.

According to Page Six, Mahomes didn't show up to Kansas City's afterparty in New Orleans. The same goes for Travis Kelce.

"Most of the players skipped the afterparty, including Travis and Patrick," a source told Page Six. "Everyone just went back to their rooms or AirBNBs and just stayed in."

We can't blame Mahomes and Kelce for skipping the afterparty. The vibes weren't high for the Chiefs, especially after losing out on a chance to become the first team to three-peat.

It'll be an interesting offseason for the Chiefs. They have a handful of key free agents they'll need to retain if they want to get back to the Super Bowl.
