Everyone in the world knows Patrick Mahomes is a great quarterback. He's the cornerstone of the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty, and his career is still on an upward trajectory. But to truly comprehend Mahomes' greatness, it requires a closer look into what makes him one the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

Through his first eight seasons (seven as a starter), and at just 29 years old, Mahomes is on pace to shatter virtually every quarterback record in existence. And Mahomes usually saves his "magic" for the biggest stage, the Super Bowl.

Today, we're going to take a deep dive into Patrick Mahomes' Super Bowl record, stats, and how he performs under pressure.

Mahomes has a 3-1 record in the Super Bowl. His three Super Bowl victories ties Troy Aikman for 4th all-time, behind Tom Brady (7), Joe Montana (4), and Terry Bradshaw (4). Mahomes' lone Super Bowl loss came at the hands of none other than Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-9 at Super Bowl 55.

The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in OT and Mahomes won his third Super Bowl MVP.

While Mahomes' record and stats are impressive, he always saves his best for last. He's manufactured fourth quarter comebacks as well as game-winning drives in all three of his super bowl victories.

In Super Bowl 54, Mahomes brought the Chiefs back from a 20-10 deficit to the 49ers entering the fourth quarter. Mahomes led three consecutive TD drives in the final 6:13 to secure his first Super Bowl.

"Mahomes magic" also took center stage during Super Bowl 57. The Chiefs found themselves trailing 27-21 to the Eagles entering the fourth quarter. Mahomes orchestrated another game-winning drive with 5:15 remaining in the game that resulted in a game-winning field goal with 0:08 left.

And in Super Bowl 58, it took OT heroics to secure back-to-back Super Bowl wins. Mahomes found the ball in his hands, down 19-16 with 1:53 remaining in the fourth quarter. After leading a drive resulting in a field goal that forced OT, Mahomes found himself down three, again (22-19), with 7:22 remaining in OT. It took Mahomes every last second this time, but he hit Mecole Hardman as the clock hit triple zeros to secure back-to-back Super Bowl wins.

And as the countdown ticks closer and closer to kick-off of Super Bowl 59, Mahomes has NFL History in his crosshairs. If Mahomes can lead the Chiefs past the Eagles (again) on Sunday, he and the Chiefs will become the first QB and team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

Given Mahomes' incredible record, stats, and performances under pressure in the Super Bowl, don't be surprised if history repeats itself.
