  • Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce lead the Kansas City Chiefs against the Washington Commanders after a 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
  • They opened 1587 Prime steakhouse and have something cooking for their patrons.
  • 1587 Prime will also hold a free tailgate before Monday’s Chiefs-Commanders game.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will be looking to make it two wins in a row for the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday when they face off against the Washington Commanders in a Week 8 matchup. The Chiefs are coming off a dominant 31-0 shutout of the Las Vegas Raiders, and they will want to carry over that momentum against the Commanders.

Mahomes is having another strong year in the early part of the NFL season, having already registered 164-of-248 completed passes (66.1%) for 1,800 yards and 14 touchdowns. Kelce, on the other hand, has 31 catches for 375 receiving yards and two TDs in seven games played. The Chiefs are 4-3 entering Sunday’s game.

Away from the field, Mahomes and Kelce recently entered the restaurant industry. In September, they opened the doors to 1587 Prime, a high-end steakhouse in the heart of Kansas City, in partnership with renowned hospitality group Noble 33.

“Me and Travis have been working on that for awhile,” Mahomes said of the business venture in March, via Fox 4 Kansas City. “We’re always together. We’re always at these restaurants, and we have a love for bringing people together. We’re going to do whatever we can to continue to bring people together and what better place than Kansas City.”

On Thursday, 1587 Prime took to social media to make an exciting announcement. Apart from serving some of the best steaks in the city, the restaurant will now be offering merchandise for their patrons.

“You asked. We delivered. The 1587 Prime hats drop October 24,” the steakhouse posted on Instagram.

1587 Prime also shared a photo of Kelce wearing the white trucker hat as part of one of his pregame outfits.

1587 Prime’s marketing team is hard at work. They also announced earlier this week that they will be hosting a free tailgate event in the parking lot of Arrowhead Stadium ahead of the “Monday Night Football” showdown against the Commanders.

The Chiefs will put their 4-3 record on the line on Monday against a 3-4 Washington side that is coming off a disappointing 44-22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Kickoff for the Chiefs-Commanders game will be at 8:15 p.m. ET.
