Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce’s New Steakhouse Receives Honest Review

The Kansas City Chiefs got off to a bad start this 2025 season, losing their first two games against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil and the Philadelphia Eagles at home. Both quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his favorite target Travis Kelce have shown flashes of brilliance, but their efforts were not enough to get the team its first win in two weeks of pro football.

Mahomes has recorded a total of 445 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and two rushing TDs along with one interception in two games. Kelce, meanwhile, has six catches for 108 yards and one touchdown.

Despite their failure to get their first win on Sunday, however, Mahomes and Kelce still received some positive development off the field.

For those unaware, the two teammates had a soft opening for their new steakhouse located inside the Loews Hotel in downtown Kansas City, called 1587 Prime. Even pop star Taylor Swift, Kelce's fiancée, reportedly attended the soft launch of the restaurant early in the week.

Amazingly enough, those who got to try the new restaurant by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have nothing but good words to say. In fact, a review by Julie Jordan of People highlighted how the steakhouse lives up to the hype.

Jordan, who tried the restaurant along with her husband, praised both the interior design, the food and beverages and the overall experience she and her husband had at the 1587 Steakhouse.

"The food menu, created by Executive Chef Ryan Arnold, was equally impressive—and hard to narrow down," Jordan wrote. "For appetizers, we ended up opting for the tuna tartare with truffle ponzu sauce, lobster rolls with caviar, and black truffle grilled cheese with tomato soup. While all of them were heavenly, my husband and I agreed the tuna was the best we’d ever had (and we lived in L.A. for 11 years), even more of a pleasant surprise in a landlocked state like Missouri."

She added, "Then it was on to the entrees with options including steaks, wild king salmon, lobster tails, chicken parmesan and more, like the Big Red wagyu burger, for which Chiefs coach Andy Reid apparently gave his input. Wagyu lovers have four different cuts to choose from—the largest being a 40-ounce wagyu Tomahawk—and the restaurant even offers tableside flambé with a bone marrow butter and brandy. My petite filet prime cut and Terry's steak frites were tender and cooked to perfection while our sides of mashed potatoes and mac & cheese only furthered our appreciation for the chef."

Mahomes and Kelce's steakhouse will officially open to the public on Sept. 17. That being said, it might be hard for fans to get a seat once it opens, considering the positive reviews it has been getting.
