Patrick Peterson compares George Pickens to five-time Pro Bowl WR

Steelers CB Patrick Peterson has gone up against some of the NFL's most talented players during his 12-year career. That's why his recent comparison for George Pickens is only raising the expectations for the second-year wide receiver.

"Who George Pickens reminds me of is Deandre Hopkins. He's one of those guys who is going to catch everything that comes his way. From what I've seen at practice," Peterson said, via Blitzburgh.

Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler and the league's most coveted remaining free agent, has 853 catches for 11,298 yards and 71 touchdowns in his career and is looking to build upon it in 2023.

Those numbers would rank him second in yards and third in catches and touchdowns in franchise history for Pittsburgh. The Steelers would be very happy if Pickens ends his career in a similar fashion.

Pickens, a 2022 second-round pick, did show what makes him so special as a rookie, hauling in 52 passes for 801 yards and four touchdowns along with showing tremendous body control with several acrobatic catches like this one against the Browns in Week 3.

Only time will tell just how good Pickens turns out to be, but if he can make the leap that many think he will, watch out for the Steelers as the team could be a contender in 2023 and beyond.
