A legend in Arizona, Patrick Peterson was a key part of some of the most successful Cardinals teams in recent history.

As one of the franchise leaders during his tenure, he contributed to the team's last NFC Championship bid in 2015 and made the playoffs in 2014.

After not playing in the 2024 season, Peterson has decided to hang up the cleats and retire with the team that drafted him.

Let's take a look back at the career of the cornerback who was drafted fifth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.

During his tenure in Arizona, Patrick Peterson emerged as one of the franchise's leaders. He helped lead the Cardinals to a playoff berth in 2014 and was a key contributor in their run to the NFC Championship Game in 2015.

An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Peterson earned the honor in each of his first eight seasons in the NFL. He was also named first-team All-Pro in 2011, 2013, and 2015.

Peterson finished his career with 652 total tackles, 122 passes defended and 36 interceptions, including two that were returned for touchdowns.

He also made an impact on special teams. As a rookie, he tied the single-season record for punt return touchdowns with four.

Later in his career, he would slowly turn away from returning duties to focus on his role as a cornerback.

Before announcing his retirement on Friday, Peterson also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
