Patriots add additional depth after injury to star player

The New England Patriots have filled one of their open roster spots on Monday. 

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Patriots have signed running back Ke'Shawn Vaughn to their practice squad. 

This comes after the team lost star running back Rhamondre Stevenson to injury. 

Vaughn has been with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 2020, being drafted in the third round. He earned a Super Bowl ring in his first season with Tom Brady in the pocket, finishing his rookie season with 26 carries for 109 rushing yards in ten games. 

He spent the 2021 and 2022 season with the Buccaneers, but was waived this season on Dec. 15. 

And now he's headed to his former quarterback's old stomping grounds. 

In his four seasons in the league, Vaughn has 103 carries for 384 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns along with 14 receptions for 81 yards and one receiving touchdown in 43 games played. 

Ezekiel Elliott and JaMycal Hasty are the only two healthy running backs on the active roster at the moment, but he joins Kevin Harris on the practice squad.
