Patriots' A.J. Brown wants one adjustment from Drake Maye

After two years of back-and-forth and controversy, A.J. Brown is finally a New England Patriot.

The former Philadelphia Eagles star didn't see eye to eye with Jalen Hurts, and he didn't seem too satisfied with his involvement — or lack thereof — in the passing game.

Brown has already let the Patriots know that he expects this to be a pass-heavy offense, and he's hit the ground running in developing chemistry with Drake Maye.

However, as a veteran pass-catcher, he wants to make his quarterback's life easier. Talking to Kay Adams, he gushed about his new signal-caller and revealed the minor adjustment he needs from him.

A.J. Brown has one pointer for "special" Drake Maye

“He's very special, and I continue to brag on him. He can make any throw, and he really tries to be a perfectionist. And sometimes I tell him, ‘Just put it in the area. You don't have to try to be perfect. You don't have to try to place the ball in my hand 30-40 yards down,'” Brown told Adams.

Brown appreciates Maye's desire for accuracy, but in reality, he only needs the third-year quarterback to get the ball near him; he'll do the rest:

“His mindset is, ‘I'm running down the field,' and he's trying to place the ball in my hand 30-40 yards down the field. Which is really hard to do, but he makes it look very effortless. And so I'm like, ‘Drake, just throw the ball over in the area. You don't have to be perfect,” added Brown.

Jalen Hurts has many virtues, but Maye has a superstar ceiling, and he's just getting started.

Getting to work with one of the best wide receivers in the game will certainly work wonders for his development, especially after leading the team to the Super Bowl with not many weapons at his disposal.

Brown can be a bit of a handful, but he's quite tough to cover on the open field. And, after how things ended in Philadelphia, perhaps it's in Maye's best interests to listen to his pointers.
