Throughout the team's rich history, the New England Patriots have had a number of players who have made a huge impact not only on the team but also on the NFL's history.
One player, who proved to be especially crucial in the team's dominance throughout the 2010s, was wide receiver Julian Edelman, who emerged as a key target for quarterback Tom Brady and is what helped them achieve much offensive success.
Now, his time in New England will forever be immortalized, as the Patriots announced on Monday that he won the fan vote to become the 37th member to be entered into the team's official Hall of Fame.

In his 12 seasons playing for the Patriots, Edelman appeared in 137 games, earning 85 starts and accumulating the second-most receptions (620), fourth-most yards (6,822) and ninth-most touchdowns (36) in team history.
He was also a big piece in helping the team win it all three different times, especially in Super Bowl LIII, earning the game's MVP after accumulating 10 receptions and 141 yards.
"Julian Edelman is one of the great success stories in our franchise’s history.... No one was more committed to his craft and honing his skills than Jules. His explosiveness off the line, quickness in his cuts and elusiveness after the catch made him one of the hardest players to defend. His clutch catches in our biggest games and overall toughness made him a fan favorite," Patriots owner Robert Kraft said in the announcement.
Of course, as a seventh-round selection for New England back in the 2009 NFL Draft as a quarterback out of Kent State, there's no doubt that Edelman beat some hefty odds to wind up with such an impressive career and honor.
