Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez spills the beans on what he’s looking for in crucial matchup with Tyreek Hill

Christian Gonzalez is typically tasked with one of the hardest jobs in every single game for New England Patriots, and that's going up against the opposing team's star receiver.

This week's matchup against the Dolphins will be no different.

The second-year cornerback is expected to be lined up opposite of Tyreek Hill on Sunday.

And when asked about what he sees from the eight-time Pro Bowler, he responded with only one word, but it was enough.

"Speed."

That's the biggest difficulty for defenders, but there are other factors that make him hard to go up against.

"He knows the game real well. He just changes the whole offense," Gonzalez told A to Z Sports. "It's a challenge, but we look forward to it."

"They're going to get him the ball," he added. "They got to get him the ball."

This will be the third time the Patriots star cornerback has matched up against Hill, so does that familiarity make him feel more prepared?

"Yes and no, because he's always changing. Everybody's getting better every week," Gonzalez said. "You rely on your skill set, but you (got to change) your weapons.

"I've gone against him, third time now, so he knows what I'm going to do. And you got to try to switch it up on him and just try to do your best to do your job."

But Hill is just one of many tough receivers that Gonzalez has had to face. So his preparation is the same as it always is.

"You don't prepare differently just because it's a new receiver. You still prepare the same and then just play your game," he explained. "Just having different tools to be able to go up against different types of receivers.

The Patriots have given Gonzalez a lot of responsibility this season, and he has stepped up each and every time. So, expect Sunday's game against the Dolphins to be no different.

Gonzalez vs. Hill... let's see who comes out on top.
