DEC. 17 PATRIOTS DECLARE SIX INACTIVES INCLUDING SEVEN FOR WEEK 15 GAME AGAINST KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - The New England Patriots (3-10) are set for their Week 15 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs (8-5) at Gillette Stadium.

The Pats will be be be without the services of receivers Kayshon Boutte and JuJu Smith-Schuster and starting left tackle Trent Brown.

With just over an hour until kickoff at 1 p.m. ET, the Patriots and Chiefs have released their full lists of inactives:

WR Kayshon Boutte

T Trent Brown

DE Sam Roberts

CHIEFS INACTIVES:

RB Isiah Pacheco

OL Donovan Smith

DEC. 16 PATRIOTS ADD PHAROAH BROWN TO INJURY REPORT, ELEVATE KEVIN HARRIS - The New England Patriots have added tight end Pharaoh Brown to their Week 15 injury report, officially listing the 29-year-old as questionable for the Pats matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Gillette Stadium

Since being signed to the Pats 53-man roster, Brown has been one of the top situational big-play threats in the NFL. In 13 games for the Patriots this season, Brown has compiled 174 receiving yards on eight catches (averaging 21.8 yards-per-reception) and one touchdown. The Oregon product was expected to play a notable role as a blocker, while acting as a third option in the passing game as a tight end, behind Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki. As Brown had not been listed on the report at any previous point in the week, the severity of his injury remains unclear.

So let it be written, so let it be done ... just hopefully, not out.

Kevin Harris Elevated from Practice Squad

With Rhamondre Stevenson having already been ruled out due to an ankle injury, Harris will get his second call-up from the scout team. He was also elevated to the game day roster for the Pats' Week 14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers but did not play any snaps on offense. When given the chance, Harris has shown an ability to contribute on early downs, as well as on goal-line stands. At 5-10, 221 pounds, Harris is the type of straightforward power runner with the size to provide some short-yardage production. He should be a solid rotational option in the Patriots backfield behind starter Ezekiel Elliott and veteran reserve JaMycal Hasty.

DEC. 15 PATRIOTS RULE OUT RHAMONDRE STEVENSON, CHRISTIAN BARMORE QUESTIONABLE FOR MATCHUP WITH KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: FULL INJURY REPORT - The New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs have announced the following player injuries and practice participation for their Week 15 matchup on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

While running back Rhamondre Stevenson was expect to miss Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury, the Pats also listed seven players as questionable. Perhaps the most notable among those potential inactives is defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who missed Friday’s practice with a shoulder injury. Barmore has been one of New England’s top defenders this season. His loss would place a great deal of pressure on the Pats interior line.

DEC. 15 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS RULE OUT RB ISIAH PACHECO FOR WEEK 15 GAME AT NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - The defending Super Bowl champions will be without the services of their top running back for their Week 15 matchup with the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium

Isiah Pacheco, per a Friday afternoon ESPN report, has been ruled out due to a lingering shoulder injury. Pacheco missed his third practice of the week, and sixth straight overall, on Friday. Despite playing all four quarters against the Green Bay Packers in Week 13, the running back has been held off the practice field entirely since returning from Kansas City’s away game in Wisconsin.

Beyond Pacheco, the Chiefs have veterans Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon on their depth chart to battle the Pats third-ranked run defense, allowing only an average of 88.2 yards per game on the ground.

Both New England and Kansas City will confirm the remainder of their respective injury reports on Friday evening.

DEC. 14 PATRIOTS, CHIEFS PRACTICE REPORT, TRENT BROWN OUT; ISAIH PACHECO OUT FOR KC? - The New England Patriots (3-10) and the Kansas City Chiefs (8-5) have each announced player injuries and practice participation in anticipation for their Week 15 matchup.

In addition to running back Rhamondre Stevenson — who continues to remain absent from the field due to an ankle injury — offensive tackle Trent Brown was not spotted during practice. Brown was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday with both hand and ankle injuries. His status on Friday will be worth monitoring, as New England might be facing the possibility of heading into Week 15 without their top offensive lineman.

Special teamer Brendan Schooler was also absent from practice due to an illness, while newly-activated offensive lineman Tyrone Wheatley, Jr. was listed as a full participant.

For the Chiefs, running back Isiah Pacheco missed his second practice of the week, and fifth straight overall, with a shoulder injury. Despite playing all four quarters against the Green Bay Packers in Week 13, the running back has been held off the practice field entirely since returning from Kansas City’s away game in Wisconsin. As such, his status for Sunday is very much in doubt.

The Pats and the defending Super Bowl champions are set for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sunday from Gillette Stadium. Here is a look at Thursday’s full report:

DEC. 14 PATRIOTS DESIGNATE OT TYRONE WHEATLEY JR. TO RETURN FROM INJURED RESERVE - The New England Patriots are close to getting back offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr., as the organization announced Thursday that Wheatley Jr. has been designated to return from injured reserve.

Wheatley Jr. was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury prior to New England's Week 6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders; he was credited with appearances in the Patriots' first two games but didn't play in the three contests that preceded his injury.

New England acquired Wheatley Jr. via trade from the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 27, a deal in which the Patriots dealt running back Pierre Strong Jr. to Cleveland.

Wheatley Jr. returned to practice Wednesday, and the Patriots have until Jan. 3 to elevate him to the active roster.

DEC. 13 PATRIOTS WR DEMARIO DOUGLAS RETURNS TO PRACTICE, FULL INJURY REPORT VS. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - The New England Patriots (3-10) and the Kansas City Chiefs (8-5) have announced Wednesday’s player injuries and practice participation for their Week 15 matchup.

The Pats and the defending Super Bowl champions are set for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sunday from Gillette Stadium.

As the rumors surrounding Bill Belichick’s future as Patriots head coach continue to pop up like bubbles in a case of club soda, the Pats welcomed back rookie receiver Demario Douglas, who had been in concussion protocol since the Pats Week 13 loss to the New York Giants. Douglas was listed as __ for Wednesday’s session. Also, Pats reserve offensive lineman Tyrone Wheatley was back at practice, signifying his potential return from injured reserve.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) was expectedly absent from practice, as was scout team defensive tackle Trysten Hill.

DEC. 6 PATRIOTS OL RILEY REIFF WILL REVERT TO INJURED RESERVE, SEASON OVER — The New England Patriots struggling offensive line will be without the services of a key veteran for the remainder of the season.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick confirmed on Wednesday that offensive tackle Riley Reiff will not be added to the team’s 53-man roster, and will revert to injured reserve, thus ending his season.

Reiff’s 21-day widndow for activation from a knee injury was opened on Nov. 15. However, Belichick acknowledged that three unfortunate injuries ultimately led to the decision to have him remain on injured reserve. Reiff played in just one game this season, logging only 45 snaps on offense.

As he entered his 12th season in the NFL, Reiff and the Patriots agreed to a $5 million contract with $4.15 million guaranteed shortly after the start of the league year in March. Though he faced some notable competition at the position, a financial investment of that size clearly set the expectation of not only of his earning a roster spot, but also a starting spot at tackle.

Despite spending much of training camp aligning at either right or left tackle, Reiff was essentially sidelined since the start of the second quarter of New England’s preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans. Facing a third-and-1 at the Titans 29, Reiff appeared to get his right knee rolled up while attempting to make a block for running back Kevin Harris. The injury forced him to short-term injured reserve for the first four games of the season. Despite being activated in October, a seperate knee ailment would force him back to the injured list for the remainder of the season.

New England, in turn, will travel to the Steel City on Wednesday afternoon in anticipation of their Week 14 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday night from Acrisure Stadium.

DEC. 5 PATRIOTS DOUGLAS, STEVENSON MISS PRACTICE, STATUS VS. STEELERS IN DOUBT - The New England Patriots (2-10) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5) have announce Tuesday’s player injuries and practice participation for their Week 14 matchup on Thursday night.

The Pats and Steelers are set for an 8:15 p.m. kickoff from Acrisure Stadium.

In addition to receiver Demario Douglas, who remains in concussion protocol, running back Rhamondre Stevenson was also not spotted among Tuesday’s participants, after having suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s 6-0 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Afree missing Sunday’s game, receiver Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) and defensive end Deatrich Wise, Jr. (illness) were present.

DEC. 3 PATRIOTS RHAMONDRE STEVENSON LEAVES GAME WITH LEG INJURY VS. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS - The New England Patriots may be without the services of their top offensive threat for the foreseeable future of their Week 13 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson suffered a lower leg injury while attempting to secure a first down on second-and 5 at the Chargers 31 yard-line with 4:25 left in the first quarter.

Stevenson fumbled the ball into the hands of Bolts’ defender Tuli Tuipuloto. However, Stevenson was slow to get to his feet and eventually had to be helped from the field by Patriots trainers. He was taken to the locker room for immediate evaluation and is questionable to return, per the team.

Losing a key weapon is the last thing a struggling Patriots' offense needs, obviously. New England is now without its starting supposed quarterback (Mac Jones), leading receiver (Kendrick Bourne) and leading rusher (Stevenson).

DEC. 3 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS FULL WEEK 13 INACTIVES LIST - The New England Patriots (2-9) are set for their Week 13 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers (4-7) at Gillette Stadium.

Despite dealing with a thigh injury for the majority of the week, running back Ezekiel Elliott is active and will play today against the Chargers. As expected, the Pats will be without the services of rookie receivers Demario Douglas (concussion) and Kayshon Boutte (illness, shoulder) for the game.

For the Bolts, receiver Keenan Allen is active and will play, despite missing two practices during the week due to a quad injury.

In addition to receiver Demario Douglas, who remains in concussion protocol, fellow rookie Kayshon Boutte was not spotted among Thursday's participants. Boutte was wearing a non-contact jersey on Wednesday, while limited with a shoulder injury. He was listed on Thursday’s report with the injury, as well as an undisclosed illness.

Kicker Matthew Wright, who signed with the Patriots practice squad just one day earlier, was present wearing a No. 47 practice jersey. Wright's attendance indicates that receiver/return specialist Mathew Sexton has been released from New England's scout team.

NOV. 29 PATRIOTS MISSING TWO PLAYERS AT PRACTICE, DEMARIO DOUGLAS IN CONCUSSION PROTOCOL - The New England Patriots (2-9) and the Los Angeles Chargers (4-7) have announced the following player injuries and participation for their first practice of Week 13.

However, with Sunday's 1 p.m. kickoff from Gillette Stadium fast approaching, the Pats may be without their most productive pass catcher. Rookie receiver Demario Douglas was one of two players to miss practice on Wednesday after being placed in concussion protocol, per a Boston Herald report

While attempting to return a punt early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the New York Giants, Douglas was essentially clotheslined by linebacker Cam Brown. The 22-year-old landed hard on the turf, causing him to be immediately removed from the game for head injury evaluation.

Douglas’ injury will be cloaked in additional concern, as it is his second concussion of the season. The Liberty product also suffered a head injury during a Week 5 home loss to the New Orleans Saints. Douglas missed the Patriots’ Week 6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders but returned for their Week 7 victory over the Buffalo Bills. He is currently the Patriots’ leading receiver with 36 catches for 410 yards.

Along with Douglas, veteran receiver/running back Ty Montgomery was also absent woth

NOV. 26 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, NEW YORK GIANTS FULL WWEK 12 INACTIVES LIST - The New England Patriots (2-8) are set for their Week 12 matchup with the New York Giants (3-8) at MetLife Stadium.

Despite battling through an ankle injury for the majority of the past three weeks, left tackle Trent Brown is active and is expected to start. Veteran receiver DeVante Parker as well as rookie Kayshon Boutte are also active and should see notable action on the field, as well.

For the Giants, star nose tackle Dexter Lawrence is inactive, after being listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report. Lawrence had missed the previous three days of practice.

With just over an hour until kickoff at 1 p.m. ET, the Patriots and Giants have released their full lists of inactives:

NOV. 24 PATRIOTS, GIANTS ISSUE FINAL INJURY REPORT: DEXTER LAWRENCE DOUBTFUL - The New England Patriots (2-8) and the New York Giants (3-8) have announced the following player injuries and practice participation in anticipation of their Week 12 matchup on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Following a schedule day off for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Patriots enjoyed perfect attendance in their final practice before making their way to the Meadowlands for this weekend’s contest.  Overall, the Pats listed seven players as questionable including offensive tackles Trent Brown (ankle) and Riley Reiff (knee,) who began his 21-day window for activation from injured reserve last Wednesday.

Perhaps just as important for the Pats is the availability of New York Giants alpha defender Dexter Lawrence — who is officially listed as ‘doubtful’ for this game with a hamstring injury. Lawrence is New York’s most fearsome presence in their front seven, earning a 92.8 overall grade from Pro Footall Focus. His ability to identify both the snap and the block makes him a formidable force in run defense. Against the pass, the veteran defensive lineman is just as impressive, having compiled an NFL-leading 53 quarterback pressures. Should he be unable to suit up on Sunday, the interior of New England’s offensive line should have a notable easier time moving the line of scrimmage to facilitate the running game — while making the Pats eventual quarterback choice a bit more comfortable.

NOV. 20 PACKERS ADD TWO RUNNING BACKS WITH PATRIOTS CONNECTIONS In the wake of injuries to Aaron Jones and Emmanuel Wilson, the Green Bay Packers have made moves in hopes of bolstering their depth at the position.

According to a report from NFL.com's Tom Pelissero, the Packers have signed Patrick Taylor from the New England Patriots practice squad while re-signing James Robinson to their own practice squad.

Taylor, a former undrafted free agent, spent the first three years of his career with the Packers (2020-23), where he played in 27 games before he was cut back in October, which allowed him to join the Patriots practice squad.

Meanwhile, Robinson spent part of the offseason in Foxboro, having signed in free agency before being released prior to the end of mandatory minicamp back in June. Since then, the 25-year-old spent time with the New York Giants, where after he signed late in July, he ended up being released a little over a month later.

He then signed with the Packers practice squad for the first time in the middle of October before he was released in the beginning of November. Now, the pair of former Patriots will find themselves in Green Bay together as the Packers look to finish out the season.

NOV. 16 FORMER PATRIOTS RUNNING BACK JAKOB JOHNSON RELEASED BY RAIDERS, RETURN TO PATS POSSIBLE? Might the New England Patriots look to a one-time, trusted ally for help on offense as they prepare to return from their bye week?

Fullback Jakob Johnson, who played for the Pats from 2019-21, was released by the Las Vegas Raiders — news which he revealed himself via X on Friday morning.

Johnson, who grew up in Germany played his collegiate football in Tennessee. He joined the Patriots in 2019 as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. Through his tenacity and continuous improvement, Johnson earned a role on New England’s roster as a traditional fullback.

The 28-year-old played in every game during his first two seasons with the Pats and was the only fullback on New England’s roster in 2021. During his three years with he Patriots, Johnson proved himself as a valuable member of their offense, displaying superb blocking skills, as well as being a capable contributor on special teams.

Johnson signed as a free agent with the Raiders in the 2022 offseason, joining then-head coach Josh McDaniels in the Nevada desert. He signed a one year extension to remain in Las Vegas this offseason. He caught only one pass for 12 yards for the Raiders in eight games before being released.

Through 62 games played throughout his four-plus year career, Johnson has played in 62 games, catching 19 passes for 105 yards and one touchdown, which he earned with New England in 2020. While offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien does not typically feature the fullback in his game planning, Johnson’s versatility and ability to block in the running game may make him a valuable piece in New England’s offense moving forward. As such, the Patriots will at least consider the option of brining Johnson back to the Foxboro fold.

NOV. 16 PATRIOTS-COLTS DRAWS LOW TV RATINGS - The NFL's four international games enjoyed increased TV viewership on NFL Network this season. Not surprisingly, last Sunday's Patriots-Colts snoozefest did little to help that cause.

The games - two in London and two in Frankfurt - averaged 5.8 million viewers. a jump of 13 percent from 2022. The Nov. 5 Chiefs-Dolphins game led the way, with a record-setting 9.2 million viewers. The Patriots' 10-6 loss to the Colts drew only half that audience - 4.6 million.

The most-watched NFL games last week drew more eyeballs, obviously. Cowboys-Giants on Fox led the way with 21.7 million, followed by Raiders-Jets at 16.7 million.

NOV. 12 PATRIOTS BILL BELICHICK CONTRACT DETAILS REVEALED, ROBERT KRAFT INTENTIONS - For the first time in over two decades, the New England Patriots have significant questions surrounding their coaching situation.

At 2-7, rumors surrounding coach Bill Belichick have traveled the spectrum from his being involved in a full scale rebuild next season, to a potential trade for his services in the offseason, to an outright firing if the Pats drop to 2-8 with a loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany.

Just moments before Sunday’s kick-off, Patriots team owner Robert Kraft, appeared on NFL Network, saying that he was "really disappointed" and hoped "things would be a lot better," than the Patriots current record. Kraft also added that he was hoping for a "re-set," beginning with Sunday’s matchup with the Colts.

NFL Network also revealed additional details on Belichick’s contract status, which had previously been reported as “lucrative,” thus complicating the prospect of the 71-year-old’s mid -season firing. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Belichick’s deal is a “new contract” which puts him under New England’s control for the remainder of 2023 and all of 2024. The report further explained that Kraft was “not inclined to fire Belichick mid-season,” but would not rule out the possibility of teams trading for his services in the offseason.

Kraft said a fans rally Saturday in Frankfurt that this was a "huge game."

NOV. 12 NEW BELICHICK RUMOR: WANTS TO BE FIRED?

Amid a mountain of this week's speculation that after 24 years, six-time Super Bowl-winning Patriots coach Bill Belichick's tenure in New England is nearing its end comes a new thought courtesy of long-time NFL and Dallas Cowboys insider Mike Fisher.

In a piece entitled, "NFL Rumor: Fired Bill Belichick to Be Hired by Dallas Cowboys' Jerry Jones? 5 Truths,'' Fisher writes: "Here's a rumor to pile on: We do hear that Belichick wouldn't mind breaking up his partnership with Patriots owner Robert Kraft, but that he very specifically does not want to be traded, because that would strip his new team of draft picks.

"So the coach, if he's going to leave New England, would actually prefer to get canned.''

This makes more sense than the "Belichick trade'' rumor, for obvious reasons. So now we watch - continuing today in Germany as the 2-7 Patriots play the Colts and try to change their status as the AFC's worst team.
