The Las Vegas Raiders gladly welcomed Maxx Crosby back with open arms once his trade didn't go through.
Crosby has also embraced the thought of staying put in Sin City, and he's always been vocal about his desire to be a Raider for life. Nevertheless, the NFL is a business first and foremost, and plans can always change midway through the season. If Myles Garrett got traded, then no one is safe.
Considering that, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton believes the Raiders could revisit their stance on trading Crosby, with the New England Patriots as a potential trade partner.
"The Raiders will go through rough patches as they grow together, but Crosby, who turns 29 in August, may not have many optimal years left," wrote Moton. "...The New England Patriots may seek help for their pass rush in the second half of the upcoming campaign."
Per Moton, the Patriots could benefit from some help in the pass-rushing department, given that Harold Landry III underwent surgery this offseason and K'Lavon Chaisson walked away in free agency.
They've already proved that they won't hesitate to be uber-aggressive to get back to the Super Bowl, giving up a 2028 first-rounder to get A.J. Brown. With that in mind, Moton argued that the Patriots could send their 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-rounder and a player to get their hands on Crosby.
That sounds like a fair return for one of the prime headhunters in the game. Then again, the Patriots may not want to wait until the third round to make their first pick in 2028, even if they have a team that's ready to win now and with some promising young players.
