One name can officially be scratched off the list of candidates running for the Denver Broncos open general manager position.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, New England Patriots assistant director of player personnel Dave Ziegler has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Broncos job.

Ziegler met with the Broncos on Saturday. His decision to remain with the Patriots likely stems from Nick Caserio's departure to the Houston Texans. Ziegler probably is in store for a promotion in New England.
The Broncos have also interviewed Chicago Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly and Minnesota Vikings assistant GM George Paton.
