The New England Patriots needed to add a wide receiver to help Drake Maye in the offseason. After the first wave of free agency, they landed Stefon Diggs. Maye will have one of the NFL's best receivers in 2025, and he's looking forward to it.

In Maye's first press conference of the offseason, Maye couldn't hold back his excitement about playing with Diggs in the upcoming 2025 season.

"When I was in high school he was a youngin' in the leauge, I had him on my fantasy team, playing with him in Madden. So it's pretty cool to hopefully, now this season throwing to him."

Maye grew up watching Diggs play, and is getting the chance to throw him the ball as a professional now. He threw the ball his way in Madden, and now will get the chance to throw it to him in real life.

Maye continued to rave about Diggs, and specifically about how he looks coming off a torn ACL injury during the 2024 season with the Houston Texans.

"He's coming back from injury, looks like he's doing great, he's been around, and I think it's going to be cool to throw to a receiver who can make plays like he has."

The addition of Diggs to the Patriots wide receiver room is a big one. He provides a high-profile target for Maye, while also being a veteran presence in a room full of younger receivers.

Diggs signed a three-year, $63 million contract with the Patriots which ties him up in New England through his age 34 season. He and the Patriots hope he can return to form that he showed with the Buffalo Bills.

If Diggs can play like how he did with the Bills, then Maye will have a fantastic receiver to throw to during his formative years of development as a quarterback in the NFL.
