The worst-kept secret in the NFL is that the New England Patriots must add more playmakers to their receiving room.
Demario Douglas led the Patriots wide receivers with 621 receiving yards, and that won't be good enough next season if quarterback Drake Maye wants to take a second step forward in year two.
New England sits with the No. 4 pick in this year's NFL Draft, and they could add a receiver with that pick.
Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan looks to be the No. 1 receiver in this year's class and should be available when New England picks, or Colorado's Travis Huner, who plays cornerback/ wide receiver, also could be in play for the Patriots.
Last week, Hunter was listed on the NFL Scouting Combine list under comebacks rather than receivers, which could prevent New England from drafting the 2024 Heisman winner.
Even if New England takes a wide receiver high in this year's class, they also need to add a veteran in free agency, and the team got some bad news on one of their targets.
Cincinnati Bengals reporter James Rapien said, "Bengals plan to franchise tag Tee Higgins."
Bengals plan to franchise tag Tee Higgins, per @JamesRapien.

Higgins, 26, is entering his sixth NFL season and is coming off a season where he recorded 73 receptions for 911 yards and ten scores in 12 games.
Last offseason, there were rumors that Higgins would be traded because the Bengals were unwilling to give him a new contract.
Even though the Bengals are expected to franchise-tag Higgins, it doesn't mean he will be back in Cincinnati this upcoming season.
The Bengals could trade Higgins, but the franchise tag gives the organization more time to figure out a contract extension with their star receiver.
