The New England Patriots unveiled their new uniformsĀ for the 2020 season, and many fans were upset to see that the red "Pat Patriot" uniforms didn't make the cut.
However, the Patriots are hoping to incorporate the red throwback uniforms into their scheme if the NFL lifts the one helmet rule.
"Our primary uniforms in the modern era have been blue and white and they will remain so," Kraft Sports and Entertainment CMO Jen Ferron said, according to Patriots.com. "We recognize that fans also have an affinity for the red 'throwback' uniform and we hope to incorporate that into our uniform rotation in the future."
If the NFL decides to shake things up for the 2021 campaign, maybe we'll see those gorgeous red uniforms on the field again after all.
The Patriots' red uniforms have not made an appearance since 2012, and it's quite unfortunate as they're some of the best uniforms the organization has ever seen.
However, it's understandable as to why they haven't brought them back yet. They're not going to wear a silver helmet with the red jerseys and white pants. It wouldn't look right.
Hopefully, we'll see the throwbacks make a return in 2021.
