This is going to be a very important preseason for the New England Patriots since they have made many significant changes to the roster.

It's almost like they took numerous different puzzle pieces, and now they have to put them together in the sense that these players haven't played with each other. It's about building those connections on and off the field that leads to the most success.

So, that's where training camp and the preseason games are going to come into play. While not ever player will see time in those three games in August, joint practices is where everyone really gets a chance to shine.

And one Patriots Insider provided some crucial updates on what they are hearing regarding New England's preseason schedule.

ESPN's Mike Reiss posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, with some notes about things he's heard at the NFL League Meetings in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Starting with joint practices, Reiss has heard that the Patriots have had conversations with the Washington Commanders and the Minnesota Vikings for this summer. The Commanders practice would be at home, while the Vikings would be away.

"Nothing is official as there is a process that requires NFL approval because the practices are married up with preseason games/scheduling," Reiss wrote. "The league generally grants teams at least one request."

And then, as it concerns the preseason games, Reiss has heard that the expectation is New England will be playing in Foxborough for Week 1, while Week 2 and 3 will be on the road.

It's going to be an exciting preseason for sure.
