Patriots Keion White Leaves Game vs. Raiders - Injury Tracker
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

OCT. 14 - PATRIOTS KEION WHITE LEAVES GAME WITH INJURY - The New England Patriots are already thin along their defensive front. Unfortunately, they may be a bit thinner for the remainder of their Week 6 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.

After attempting to make a first-down tackle of Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, Patriots rookie defensive end/linebacker Keion White was hit in the helmet. He was briefly evaluated in the blue medical tent before returning to the locker room for further evaluation. He is officially questionable to return.

The Pats are already feeling losses in their pass rush with star linebacker Matthew Judon on injured reserve due to suffering a torn biceps tendon in Week 4. New England is also without star rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez.

OCT. 13 - PATRIOTS, RAIDERS RELEASE FULL INJURY REPORT, JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER, DEMARIO DOUGLAS AMONG 7 OUT FOR PATS - The New England Patriots and the Las Vegas Raiders have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Friday, along with their projected status for Week 6.

The Pats and Raiders are set for a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday afternoon from Allegiant Stadium.

Having missed the entire week of practice while in concussion protocol, receivers Demario Douglas and JuJu Smith-Schuster have unsurprisingly been ruled out for Week 6. Second-year receiver Tyquan Thornton, who was designated to return from a stint on injured reserve earlier this week, is listed as 'questionable' to make his season-debut due to a shoulder injury.

New England's offensive line continues to feel the injury effects, as starting guard Cole Strange (knee) and tackle Riley Reiff (knee) will be sidelined on Sunday. Starting tackle Trent Brown (chest) and guard Michael Onwenu (ankle) are also listed as questionable.

OCT. 12 - PATRIOTS, RAIDERS INJURY REPORT; KYLE DUGGER ADDED; DEMARIO DOUGLAS, JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER STILL ABSENT - The New England Patriots and the Las Vegas Raiders have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Thursday.

The Pats and Raiders are set for an 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff for their Week 6 matchup from Allegiant Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

On their penultimate day of practice before departing for the Nevada desert, the Patriots enjoyed what may best be described as a high-energy, positive practice.

While the outlook on receivers Demario Douglas and JuJu Smith-Schuster remains bleak -- as each remain in concussion protocol -- safety Kyle Dugger (foot) was the lone new addition to what has become a lengthy report for New England.

OCT. 11 - PATRIOTS, RAIDERS INJURY REPORT; PATS OL MICHAEL ONWENU BACK AT PRACTICE - The New England Patriots and the Las Vegas Raiders have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Wednesday.

The Pats and Raiders are set for an 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff for their Week 6 matchup from Allegiant Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

After exiting New England's Week 5 loss to the New Orleans Saints with an ankle injury, starting right tackle Michael Onwenu was back at practice. A Patriots Country source has confirmed that Onwenu's removal from the game was "more precautionary, than necessary." As such, his playing status for Week 6 is not in doubt at this time.

After being designated to return due to his return to the field for Tuesday's walkthrough, receiver Tyquan Thornton once again practiced with his teammates, fueling speculation that the second-year speedster may suit up for Sunday's matchup with the Raiders. Both JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas remained absent due to their respective placements in concussion protocol.

OCT. 8 - PATRIOTS RECEIVERS DEMARIO DOUGLAS, JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER, OFFENISVE LINEMAN MICHAEL ONWENU RULED OUT IN WEEK 5 MATCHUP WITH NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - The news continues to go from bad to worse for the New England Patriots.

Already feeling the effects of the losses of cornerback Christian Gonzalez and linebacker Matthew Judon, the Pats must do without the services of a trio of offensive standouts for at least the remainder of their Week 5 matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Rookie receiver Demario Douglas (head), veteran slot pass catcher JuJu Smith-Schuster (head) and offensive lineman Michael Onwenu (ankle) have all been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game.

In the meantime, New England continues to fall deeper into despair, as they face a 24-0 deficit heading into the final minute of the third quarter.

OCT. 8 - PATRIOTS RECEIVER DEMARIO DOUGLAS QUESTIONABLE TO RETURN WITH HEAD INJURY IN WEEK 5 MATCHUP WITH NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - The New England Patriots rash of poor play and bad injury luck continues.

Already facing a 21-0 deficit in their Week 5 matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5 at Gillette Stadium, they may be facing the rest of the matchup without the services of one of their best playmakers on offense.

Rookie receiver Demario "Pop" Douglas is questionable to return with a head injury. Douglas suffered the injury with 5:40 remaining in the first quarter after securing a 24-yard reception on a Mac Jones pass. Saints defensive back Marshon Lattimore made forearm contact with Douglas' head on the tackle attempt and was promptly flagged for unnecessary roughness.

OCT. 6 - PATRIOTS, SAINTS ISSUE FINAL INJURY REPORT FOR WEEK 5; 10 PATS QUESTIONABLE - The New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Friday, along with their projected status for Week 5.

The Pats and Saints are set for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff from Gillette Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

New England enjoyed full attendance for its final team practice before hosting New Orleans on Sunday. Still, the Pats are not without their share of uncertainty when it comes to the status of some key players — including the addition of left tackle Trent Brown with a chest injury, while Cole Strange (knee) and Rhamondre Stevenson (thigh) remain among those to watch prior to Sunday’s kickoff.

The Pats may be in store for some good news for a courier back group decimated by injury. Veteran corner, Jonathan Jones — who has missed the past three games with an ankle injury — is expected to play, per a Friday morning report from MassLive.

OCT. 5 PATRIOTS LIST 10 PLAYERS AS LIMITED ON THURSDAY INJURY REPORT, J.C. JACKSON A FULL PARTICIPANT? - The New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Thursday.

The Pats and Saints are set for an 1 p.m. ET kickoff for their Week 5 matchup from Gillette Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This is the second the three reports to be issued by both teams in anticipation of the game.

In addition to listing 10 players as limited participants — including notables such as Rhamondre Stevenson (thigh) and Cole Strange (knee) and Jonathan Jones (ankle) —the team also welcomed back cornerback J.C. Jackson, whose services New England reacquired via trade with the Los Angeles Chargers. Surprisingly enough, he was not given a designation on Thursday's report. Jackson, who missed all but five game with the Chargers last season due to a torn patella tendon, has acknowledged that he has been less than "100 percent" as he worked his way back to full strength. Yet, he was clearly visible on the practice fields to Thursday's media contingent.

Jackson's omission from the report may indicate that he was a full participant. However, it is also important to remember his trade was not officially announce by the team until after the conclusion of Thursday's practice. As such, it will be worth monitoring whether he is given a designation on Friday.

Here is Thursday's full report for both the Patriots and Saints:

OCT. 4 PATRIOTS WELCOME TRIO BACK TO PRACTICE, PATS, SAINTS INJURY REPORT - As the New England Patriots prepare to welcome an old friend back into the Foxboro fold, the health of several Pats players continues to be one the most concerning topics as they look to improve their 1-3 record.

With cornerback Christian Gonzalez (torn shoulder labrum) and linebacker Matthew Judon (torn biceps tendon) headed for injured reserve, the team has agreed to acquire former Patriot J.C. Jackson from the Los Angeles Chargers, while also swapping late-round selections in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Additionally, the team welcomed defensive end Trey Flowers (PUP), safety Cody Davis (PUP) and offensive tackle Riley Reiff (IR) back to practice from their respective stays on the Patriots reserve lists. New England now has 21 days to activate the returnees.

Despite also being eligible to return, wide receiver Tyquan Thornton and cornerback Jack Jones were not present for Wednesday's practice and remain on IR for the time being.

In the meantime, the Pats have begun their preparations for hosting the New Orleans Saints (2-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m. from Gillette Stadium.

Here are Wednesday's full player injuries and practice participation reports for both teams:

OCT. 2 GONZALEZ, JUDON EXPECTED TO BE OUT "INDEFINITELY" - Adding injury to insult, the Patriots lost a game, 38-3, Sunday to the Cowboys but, more importantly, also lost their top two defensive players to significant injuries. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Monday that both standout rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez and Pro Bowl edge-rusher Matthew Judon are expected to be out "indefinitely."

Per The Athletic, Gonzalez, who last week was named NFL Rookie of the Month for September, suffered a dislocated right shoulder making a tackle. Judon sustained a torn right biceps muscle in the second half. Both left the historic blowout loss and didn't return.

While both seek second opinions on their serious injuries, the 1-3 and reeling Patriots will head into Sunday's home game against the Saints without two stars.

OCT. 1 PATRIOTS LINEBACKER MATTHEW JUDON LEAVES GAME WITH SHOULDER INJURY - With the health of their defense already teetering on the brink after the loss of rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez, the Pats may now be without the services of another of their top defenders in what is shaping up to be a costly blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4 at AT&T Stadium.

Linebacker Matthew Judon left the game early in the fourth quarter while attempting to make a tackle. Judon remained on the ground while holding his elbow/forearm. He quickly headed to the blue medical tent before being led to the locker room for further evaluation.

Judon is not expected to return to the game, and his injury — along with that of Gonzalez — will be closely monitored in the coming days.

OCT. 1 PATRIOTS CORNERBACK CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ RULED OUT WITH SHOULDER INJURY - New England Patriots rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez has been one of the team's most competent defenders this season.

However, his first game since being named defensive player of the month for September ended before the end of first quarter of New England’s Week 4 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

When attempting to tackle Cowboys running back Tony Pollard on first-and-10 from the New England 25, Gonzalez awkwardly jammed his shoulder.  Though he was able to get up under his own power, he was immediately taken to the blue medical tent for observation. Shortly thereafter, he headed to the locker room for further evaluation, questionable to return.

Within seconds of the start of the second half, Gonzalez was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Dallas is in the midst of routing the Patriots on their home field, leading 31-3 with just under 10 minutes remaining.

SEPT. 30 PATRIOTS DOWNGRADE CB JONATHAN JONES, G COLE STRANGE TO OUT VS. COWBOYS  - The New England will be without the services of two key starters when the take the field at AT&T Stadium for their Week 4 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.

Despite being listed on Friday's injury report as questionable, the Pats have downgraded cornerback Jonathan Jones (ankle) and offensive lineman Cole Strange prior to the team's departing flight to Arlington, TX on Saturday.

The Patriots were already projected to be thin at cornerback for this contest against the Cowboys. With second-year corners Jack Jones and Marcus Jones currently on injured reserve, New England's depth chart at the position consists of Christian Gonzalez, Myles Bryant, Shaun Wade -- who is dealing with a shoulder injury -- and potentially Jalen Mills moving down from safety. In turn, Jonathan Jones will miss his third straight game.

Strange, who left New England's Week 3 victory over the New York Jets with a knee injury, was notably limited in his on-field action during practice this week. The second-year lineman has been dealing with a knee injury since the opening days of training camp in late July. In fact, Strange was inactive for New England’s season opener. In two games played, he has been on the field for 118 snaps on offense. When he has been absent from game action, rookie guard Atonio Mafi has played on the left, between tackle Trent Brown and center David Andrews.

New England is expected to announce the remainder of their roster moves, including any practice squad elevations, on Saturday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. ET.

SEPT. 29 PATRIOTS, COWBOYS ISSUE FINAL INJURY REPORT FOR WEEK 4; FIVE PATS QUESTIONABLE - The New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Friday, along with their projected status for Week 4.

The Pats and Cowboys are set for a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff from AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

New England enjoyed full attendance for its final team practice before traveling to Arlington. The only notable addition to the report was cornerback Shaun Wade, who was a first-time listee with a shoulder injury. Wade’s injury could be significant, as corners Jack and Marcus Jones are on injured reserve, and Jonathan Jones is listed as questionable with an ankle injury.

Reserve offensive lineman Sidy Sow was removed from the report. The Patriots rookie tackle missed both Week 2 and Week 3 while in concussion protocol.

SEPT. 28 PATRIOTS, COWBOYS INJURY REPORT: STRANGE AMONG LIMITED PARTICIAPANTS - The New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Thursday.

The Pats and Cowboys are set for an 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff for their Week 4 matchup from AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This is the second the three reports to be issued by both teams in anticipation of the game.

Though the Pats once again enjoyed perfect attendance for the week’s penultimate session, they did list five players as “limited” participants, including guard Cole Strange (knee) who left New England’s Week 3 victory over the New York Jets. Strange appeared to minimally partake in the Pats on-field activities, at least during the brief portion of practice open to the media.

SEPT. 28 PATRIOTS COLE STRANGE SEES SCANT ACTION AT THURSDAY’S PRACTICE  - The New England Patriots once again enjoyed perfect attendance amid the beautiful autumn weather at practice on Thursday, as they prepare for their Week 4 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

However, a key member of their interior offensive line is beginning to seem like a long shot to suit up on Sunday.

Starting left guard Cole Strange appeared to be very limited in his on-field action during the brief period of practice open to the media. Strange left New England’s Week 3 victory over the New York Jets with a knee injury and did not return to the game. He was also a limited participant in practice on Wednesday.

Strange has been dealing with a knee injury since the opening days of training camp in late July. The Chattanooga product was inactive for New England’s season opener. In two games played, he has been on the field for 118 snaps on offense. When he has been absent from game action, rookie guard Atonio Mafi has played on the left, between tackle Trent Brown and center David Andrews.

Both New England and Dallas will release their second of three injury reports on Thursday afternoon — at which time, Strange’s official practice status will be revealed. Sunday’s matchup is set for a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff from AT&T Stadium.

SEPT. 27 PATRIOTS, COWBOYS RELEASE FIRST INJURY REPORT OF WEEK 4 - The New England Patriots (1-2) and the Dallas Cowboys (2-1) have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Wednesday.

The Pats and Cowboys are set for an 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff for their Week 4 matchup from AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Pats enjoyed perfect attendance for the week’s first session. However, they did list five players as “limited” participants, including defensive lineman Davon Godchaux (ankle) and guard Cole Strange (knee) who left New England’s Week 3 victory over the New York Jets.

SEPT. 26 PATRIOTS PLACE DL DANIEL EKUALE ON INJURED RESERVE AFTER SUFFERING TORN BICEPS - The New England Patriots will be without the services of a trusted member of their interior offensive line for the foreseeable future.

The Pats confirmed their placement of defensive lineman Daniel Ekuale on injured reserve (IR) on Tuesday. The 29-year-old suffered a torn biceps in the first half of New England's 15-10 victory over the New York Jets last Sunday. He left the game with what was originally described as an elbow injury and was ruled out during halftime.

The five-year veteran defender has been a rotational nose tackle over the past two seasons for the Patriots. In 2022, Ekuale proved himself a solid depth piece along the defensive line. The Washington State product played in all 15 games for which he was eligible, having earned 14 total tackles (two for loss), three quarterback hits and two sacks.

Ekuale’s work ethic and versatility has routinely caught the eye of his teammates and coaches. He is the most natural fit on the left among the Pats reserve defensive linemen and continues to be one of their most disruptive forces along the interior as a sub-rusher. Through three games this season, Ekuale compiled three tackles and one forced fumble. He had logged one tackle against the Jets prior to his exit from Sunday's game.

While his timetable for a return has yet to be determined, he is expected to miss an extended period of time, if not the remainder of the season. Per the terms of his IR designation, he will miss at least the next four games.

SEPT. 24 PATRIOTS DAVON GODCHAUX, DANIEL EKUALE OUT FOR REMAINDER OF MATCHUP WITH JETS - The New England Patriots will be without the services of two of their top defenders for the remainder of their Week 3 matchup with the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Defensive lineman Daniel Ekuale (elbow) and interior tackle Davon Godchaux (ankle) are out for the remainder of contest.  Both suffered injuries during the first half of a soggy afternoon in East Rutherford, in which the MetLife Stadium turf has been slick for much of the contest.

Rookie kicker Chad Ryland added to the Pats' seven-point halftime lead with a 51-yard field goal to give the Pats a 13-3 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter.

SEPT. 23 PATRIOTS DOWNGRADE CB JONATHAN JONES, OL SIDY SOW TO 'OUT' FOR WEEK 3 AGAINST JETS - The New England Patriots secondary will be without the services of a pair of key components at positions of need when they take on the New York Jets at for their Week 3 matchup at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

The Patriots have announced that starting cornerback Jonathan Jones (ankle) and reserve offensive guard/tackle Sidy Sow (concussion) have been downgraded to out for this weekend's game.

The Patriots were already projected to be thin at cornerback for this contest against their division rivals. With second-year corners Jack Jones and Marcus Jones currently on injured reserve, New England's depth chart at the position consists of Christian Gonzalez, Myles Bryant, Shaun Wade and potentially Jalen Mills moving down from safety.

Sow, who missed New England's Week 2 loss to the Miami Dolphins, was expected to play a notable role at right tackle, if healthy. As a result, veteran Calvin Anderson is almost certain to get the start, and play significant minutes, against a powerful Jets defensive front.

New England is expected to announce the remainder of their roster moves, including any practice squad elevations, on Saturday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. ET.

SEPT. 22 PATRIOTS, JETS ISSUE FINAL INJURY REPORT FOR WEEK 3; FIVE PATS QUESTIONABLE - The New England Patriots and the New York Jets have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Friday, along with their projected status for Week 3.

The Pats and Jets are set for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff from MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

New England enjoyed full attendance for its final team practice before traveling to East Rutherford. The only notable player restriction was for reserve offensive lineman Sidy Sow, who wore a red non-contact jersey. The Patriots rookie tackle missed last week's Week 2 loss to the Miami Dolphins while in concussion protocol. He was a limited participant on Wednesday but missed Thursday's session.

Starting offensive left tackle Trent Brown (concussion) and starting cornerback Jonathan Jones (ankle) were on the practice field Thursday morning and appear set to play this weekend -- though, Jones is listed as questionable.

Receiver DeVante Parker, who had been a limited participant due to a knee injury was removed from the report, indicating that he will play on Sunday.

SEPT. 22 PATRIOTS GETTING 2 STARTERS BACK FOR JETS? - As they try to figure out a way to replace cornerback/kick-returner Marcus Jones, the Patriots are getting some good news on the injury front. Starting offensive left tackle Trent Brown (concussion) and starting cornerback Jonathan Jones (ankle) were on the practice field Thursday morning in Foxboro, and appear set to return for Sunday's game at the New York Jets.

The return of Brown would give the Pats the luxury of starting its designed offensive line of starting together for the first time this season.

The only Patriots player wearing a red, non-contact jersey was rookie offensive lineman Sidy Sow (concussion). Newly signed quarterback Will Grier was also spotted on the practice field wearing No. 19. While Bailey Zappe will be Mac Jones' backup at New York, Grier will suit up as the team's emergency No. 3 quarterback.

Marcus Jones (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Thursday night and will at least the next four games.

SEPT. 21 PATRIOTS, JETS RELEASE SECOND INJURY REPORT FOR WEEK 3 - The New England Patriots and the New York Jets have announced the following player injuries and practice participation from Thursday's session.

New England was once again without the services of cornerback Marcus Jones, who continues to deal with a shoulder injury. Having missed two practices this week, Jones' status for Sunday's matchup with the Jets is in considerable question. In addition to his duties on defense, Jones serves as the Patriots top return option, both on kicks and punts.

Reserve offensive lineman Sidy Sow, who was a limited participant during Wednesday's session, did not suit up for Thursday's practice -- also placing his chances of playing in Week 3 in jeopardy.

SEPT. 20 PATRIOTS, JETS RELEASE FIRST INJURY REPORT OF WEEK 3 - The New England Patriots (0-2) and the New York Jets (1-1) have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Wednesday.

The Pats and Jets are set for an 1 p.m. kickoff for their Week 3 matchup from MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Starting left tackle Trent Brown and reserve lineman Sidy Sow returned to the field, after spending the entirety of the previous week out of action while in concussion protocol. Cornerback Jonathan Jones was also back at practice, after missing the Patriots 24-17 Week 2 loss to the Miami Dolphins with an ankle injury.

Among New England's notable absences were reserve cornerback Marcus Jones, who suffered a shoulder injury against the Dolphins, and defensive tackle Davon Godchaux, who was not present presumedly due to both he and his fiancé celebrating the birth of their child on Tuesday.

Defensive lineman Christian Barmore was a first-time addition to the Pats report, listed with a knee injury. Barmore played on 28 snaps (44 percent) for New England's defense on Sunday night.

SEPT 19 PATRIOTS TRENT BROWN, SIDY SOW, JONATHAN JONES BACK AT PRACTICE - As the New England Patriots begin their preparations for a crucial Week 3 matchup with the New York Jets in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday, they are welcoming back a much-needed trio of players to practice on Wednesday.

New England, however, did have two notable absences. Reserve cornerback Marcus Jones, who suffered a shoulder injury during last Sunday night's loss to the Dolphins, was absent from the session. Defensive tackle Davon Godchaux was also not present, presumedly due to both he and his fiancé celebrating the birth of their child on Tuesday.

Both the Patriots and the Jets will issue their first injury and practice participation report of the Week on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. ET.

SEPT. 15 PATRIOTS' CB JONATHAN JONES DEALING WITH ANKLE INJURY - The New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins have announced their player injuries and practice participation for Friday.

The Pats and Dolphins are set for an 8:20 p.m. kickoff for their Week 2 matchup from Gillette Stadium on Sunday night.

Though he was a limited participant during Thursday's practice, starting cornerback Jonathan Jones missed Friday's session. He is officially listed as 'questionable' for Sunday's matchup. Other notables on the list include four offensive linemen, two of which (Trent Brown, Sidy Sow) remain in concussion protocol.

Center David Andrews, who had been a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday, was removed from the report, indicating that he will be available to play against the Dolphins.

In addition to Pats' offensive linemen Trent Brown and Sidy Sow being absent for the second straight day, cornerback Jonathan Jones was a new addition as a limited participant due to an ankle injury. Jones’ injury is worth monitoring, as he factors prominently into the team’s plans to defend Dolphins’ receiver Tyreek Hill.

SEPT 13 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, MIAMI DOLPHINS RELEASE INITIAL WEEK 2 INJURY REPORT The New England Patriots (0-1) and the Miami Dolphins (1-0) have announced the following player injuries and practice participation.

In anticipation of their Week 2 matchup this Sunday night at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots listed seven players, including a pair of offensive linemen which were absent from practice.

Veteran left tackle Trent Brown and rookie Sidy Sow did not participate in Wednesday's practice, held indoors at Socios Fieldhouse, due to being in concussion protocol. It remains unclear when each player sustained his respective injury. However, until further notice, each of their status for Sunday's game is in significant doubt.

Starting guards Michael Onwenu (ankle) and Cole Strange (knee) were also listed as limited participants, along with center David Andrews who was also limited due to a hamstring injury.

SEPT 13 PATRIOTS MOVE PRACTICE INDOORS, TRENT BROWN ABSENT? With inclement weather already causing significant flooding throughout the southern part of the region, another batch of heavy rain forced the New England Patriots indoors to the Socios Fieldhouse for Wednesday's practice.

Still, that was not the "biggest" story of the afternoon.

Despite the Pats looking stylish donning their red practice jerseys and white 'Pat Patriot' throwback helmets, starting left tackle Trent Brown was conspicuous by his absence in the Pats first session in preparation for their Week 2 contest against the Miami Dolphins (1-0) on Sunday Night Football.

The 6-8, 380-pound veteran lineman is a massive presence for the Pats at the position; both literally and figuratively. Brown played every offensive snap during New England's 25-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in their season-opener. Brown was also limited during one practice last Wednesday due to an illness. However, he was removed from the injury report on Thursday and remained a full participant for the remainder of the week.

The Patriots already have their share of injury concerns along the offensive line, with both left guard Michael Onwenu (ankle) and right guard Cole Strange (knee) remaining sidelined for Week 1. The injuries forced two rookies - Sidy Sow and Atonio Mafi - to start last week's game, in which the Pats rushed for only 76 yards on 22 carries.

The Patriots and Dolphins are expected to furnish their first injury and practice participation report on Wednesday afternoon, at which time more information regarding Brown's absence may be made available.

SEPT. 13 ANTONIO BROWN WANTS BACK IN NFL - The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves shorthanded after Week 1 as wide receiver Diontae Johnson will be out multiple weeks with a hamstring injury. Enter ... Patriots ex Antonio Brown?!

It's another silly/sad chapter in Brown's troubled post-NFL career, but here we are. At age 35 - and admittedly, in his days with the Steelers maybe the best receiver in the game - Brown is reduced to silly attention-getting stunts (not to mention very serious legal entanglements and concerns about mental and emotional stability).

"Heard the Steelers need a WR………..," said the former All-Pro Brown on social media ... which would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
