The New England Patriots have agreed to terms on a two-year, $8 million deal with veteran backup quarterback Josh Dobbs, according to his agent Mike McCartney.
Dobbs will get $3.8 million fully guaranteed.

Dobbs joins second-year guys Drake Maye and Joe Milton III in New England's quarterback room, essentially replacing unrestricted free agent Jacoby Brissett as the veteran in the room.
New England will be Dobbs' ninth team that he's suited up for. His best work came back in Arizona in 2023 when he had a career-high 1,569 passing yards and an 8-5 TD-INT ratio.
His career numbers are average, however. He has 3,281 total passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns, and 15 interceptions in his career. His career completion percentage is 62.7% with a 78.1 QB rating.
The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Dobbs in the fourth round (135th overall) in 2019, before trading him to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a fifth-round pick in 2020.
He only lasted a year there before being waived and re-claimed by the Steelers.
After that, Dobbs spent time with the Cleveland Browns (twice), Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and the San Francisco 49ers.
Dobbs adds to a busy day in New England. The Patriots have loaded up on Day 1 of free agency, agreeing to terms with DT Milton Williams, DT Khyiris Tonga, OT Morgan Moses, CB Carlton Davis, LB Robert Spillane, and EDGE Harold Landry.
They have also traded DT Davon Godchaux to New Orleans and re-signed TE Austin Hooper, OL Demontrey Jacobs, OL Ben Brown, and DT Jeremiah Pharms Jr.
