Early Friday afternoon, the Tennessee Titans released veteran linebacker Harold Landry. Landry has spent all six seasons of his NFL career with the Titans, and he will now have to find a new home in 2025.
New England Patriots' reporter Evan Lazar believes that Landry reuniting with his former head coach Mike Vrabel in New England is a move that both sides should be extremely interested in.
Landry is a one-time pro-bowler, and he has appeared in 15-plus games in each of his six seasons and has collected 397 tackles, 102 QB hits, 70 tackles for loss, and 50.5 sacks.
Pass rushing is something New England struggled with in 2024, as it finished dead last in sacks in 2024 with only 28. Landry has a career high of 12.5 sacks, nearly half of the Patriots' total in the 2024 season.
Along with Landry being a good fit, New England has been linked to Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter in several mock drafts, and having a veteran presence like Landry to mentor Carter in his first two or three seasons in the NFL could be extremely beneficial.
With the amount of cap space available for New England this offseason, a move for Landry should be quite easy to navigate and reunite the linebacker with his former head coach.
