Patriots make a key decision about Stefon Diggs

The New England Patriots already had a promising quarterback. Now, they needed to get him a weapon.

That's why, despite coming off an ACL injury, being in his 30s and having a long history of power struggles, they still chose to sign Stefon Diggs.

Fortunately, it looks like that major gamble is about to pay off, as he'll be a full participant at training camp, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.

"Patriots WR Stefon Diggs has been cleared for full participation at training camp, per sources," she wrote on X. "While New England will monitor his reps early on, Diggs has looked strong in his return after tearing his ACL last October while taking team reps with second-year QB Drake Maye."

Diggs got a three-year, $63.5 million contract this offseason after a brief stint with the Houston Texans. He looked like he was back to his old ways after a down final year with the Buffalo Bills before suffering the season-ending injury in Week 8.

Diggs has already shown what he's capable of when he's healthy, but he's also proven to be a handful plenty of times, burning bridges with two of his three former teams.

He was also all over the news for the wrong reasons when his escapade with models and a mysterious pink powder did big numbers on social media.

Now, with coach Mike Vrabel leading the way and Robert Kraft making it loud and clear that he's done losing, Diggs will be in the spotlight from day one.
