There are some elite tight ends in the NFL, and if anyone understands what to look for in a player, it's former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.
Gronkowski had high praise for Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, who was arguably snubbed in the Offensive Rookie of the Year voting last week.
"Brock Bowers is an absolute savage," Gronkowski told reporters via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday, "he was dominating as a rookie. He had over 100 catches with like five different QBs ... the man is a menace."
Bowers had 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns despite the revolving door of quarterbacks in Las Vegas.
No, as an analyst with FOX, Gronkowski played the position better than almost anyone in NFL history.
Still, he also understands the continuity factor since he almost only caught passes from Tom Brady in his storied career with the Patriots.
The former Arizona star caught 521 passes for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns in nine years with New England. Gronkowski made five Pro Bowls, was named an All-Pro four times, and won four Super Bowls along the way, which included one in his late-career stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bowers finished second in the OROY voting behind Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who led the team to the NFC Championship Game.
Unlike Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, Daniels started immediately and led an unexpected turnaround in Washington.
