The New England Patriots could be preparing to reshape their receiving lineup once again this offseason. Just weeks after reaching the Super Bowl, the team now faces a major transition at wide receiver following the release of veteran star Stefon Diggs.

While the Patriots are still evaluating their next move, early reports suggest they may already be keeping a close eye on a potential replacement. Romeo Doubs, a 6-foot-2 wide receiver who could soon emerge as one of the most intriguing names on the market, is a possible target.

After contract negotiations with the Green Bay Packers failed to produce a new agreement, Doubs is linked to join another team, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. However, the Patriots are not the only team in contention. Reports have also suggested that the 49ers, Commanders, and Titans are keeping a close eye on the Packers wide receiver along with New England.

However, the Patriots may be especially aggressive due to their need at the position. Diggs’ departure is a major reason for the urgency. The veteran receiver was released by the team on March 11th, even though he helped New England reach the Super Bowl. Diggs was reportedly waived for financial reasons, aiming to save over $16 million in salary cap space

That decision creates a significant gap for the Patriots in the offensive lineup. Diggs was more than just a wide receiver for New England. He was a leader in the locker room and played an important role in guiding young quarterback Drake Maye.

Doubs could be a strong fit for the Patriots. The Packers receiver has gradually established himself as a reliable all-around target thanks to his strong build, dependable hands, and ability to contribute in multiple aspects of the passing game. If New England decides to pursue him aggressively, Doubs could soon play a major role in the Patriots’ post-Diggs offensive makeover.
