Pete Carroll Has Two-Word Response to NFL's 'Tush Push' Decision

The "tush push" play made famous by the Philadelphia Eagles has been the subject of much debate for a few years now. The Eagles have perfected the play to the point where it's almost impossible for a defense to stop.

Other teams have tried it, but only the Eagles have mastered it. This led to the NFL proposing a ban on the play to the owners.

At the NFL owners' meeting at The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in Minneapolis, only 22 teams voted in favor of banning the play. There needed to be 24 teams (75% of NFL teams) in favor of the ban for it to pass.

It remains to be seen if the Las Vegas Raiders under Pete Carroll will try to utilize the "tush push" play this season. Geno Smith is an older quarterback, so they may not be keen on putting him in that position.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on the 10 teams that voted in favor of keeping the "tush push" alive. The Raiders weren't among those 10 teams, which would mean that owner Mark Davis was in favor of the ban.

That's not something that Carroll appears to agree with. The coach was asked about the decision not to ban the "tush push," and he had a simple answer.

"Good choice," Carroll said during his Wednesday press conference.

Carroll didn't get into the weeds about why he would support keeping the "tush push" play legal. It could simply be that he respects that the Eagles have mastered a play that no other team has.
