PFF gives Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills the ultimate bulletin board material ahead of the 2024 season
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Pro Football Focus handed Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills some bulletin board material that the team should absolutely use as motivation this fall.

On Thursday, PFF made their predictions for who will win each division in 2024.

They have the Miami Dolphins winning the AFC East this upcoming season, despite the fact that Buffalo has won four straight division titles.

To make matters worse, PFF doesn't think the Bills are the Dolphins' biggest competition in the AFC East. Instead, they think it's the New York Jets.

From PFF: The Buffalo Bills are currently favored to win the AFC East, just as they have in each of the last four seasons. However, their roster looks quite different from previous seasons, as there will be no Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Tre’Davious White, Mitch Morse, Jordan Poyer or Micah Hyde. They will be a good team with one of the best quarterbacks in the world behind center, but it’s a tough division, and they have a tough schedule. The Jets earned the best team defense grade (90.0) in the league in 2023. That defense will look to remain just as strong in 2024, and the offense will hopefully have a fully healthy Aaron Rodgers for the full season. Unfortunately, their year starts with three games in 11 days, which could require a very fast start. As for Miami, people love to talk about the offense, but the defense was also very good last season, finishing top-five in both team pass-rush grade (84.1) and team run-defense grade (89.1). They also have the easiest strength of schedule in the division. It’s close between the Jets and Dolphins for me, but a more favorable schedule setup gives the Dolphins the edge.

Predictions obviously don't mean anything. Every team in the NFL has elite athletes on their roster. Any team can beat any team on any given Sunday. It doesn't matter what cherry-picked metrics or meaningless analytics are cited -- ultimately all that matters is which team competes the hardest and plays the cleanest. That's what will decide the AFC East, not a prediction in June or a pass-rush grade.

Allen and the Bills should take these kinds of predictions personally. They should use it as fuel for the entire season.

Everyone seems to be writing the Bills off because the team traded superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. As if one wide receiver determines who will win the division.

Buffalo should be as motivated as ever to prove the doubters wrong. And this prediction from PFF should be one of their main sources of bulletin board material this fall. If Sean McDermott is wise, he'll post this prediction all over Buffalo's facility this summer.
