PFF names the most underrated player on the Buffalo Bills' roster
Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Pro Football Focus recently named the most underrated player on each NFL roster and they went with a third-year player for the Buffalo Bills.

PFF thinks that cornerback Christian Benford is the Bills' most underrated player.

Benford, a former Villanova standout, was selected by the Bills in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

From PFF: After playing just 363 snaps in his rookie season, Benford won one of the starting cornerback positions in 2023 and was on the field for 837 snaps despite injuries. He was the entire NFL’s highest-graded cornerback over the last two weeks (92.0). However, he played just 13 snaps in the postseason, hurting Buffalo’s chances of advancing.

Benford is poised to play a key role for the Bills once again in 2024, though it will be interesting to see if Buffalo's cornerback rotation changes with Jahmile Addae taking over as the franchise's new cornerbacks coach.

Addae replaces John Butler, a coach who was never on the same page with Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam, a first round selection by Buffalo in 2022. Elam, a former Florida Gators standout, could play a bigger role in Buffalo if he stays healthy and meshes with Addae.

Regardless of how Elam gels with Addae, Benford will still be a key player for the Bills this fall.
