PFF ranks Cardinals Marvin Harrison Jr. as a 5th-tier NFL WR

GLENDALE – Second-year wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is the top Arizona Cardinals player expected to have the biggest jump from last year. The 22-year-old had a good debut season, catching 62 balls for 885 yards and eight touchdowns. Head coach Jonathan Gannon believes that fans and others alike will be shocked on how big of a jump he makes Harrison’s sophomore year.

Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema seems to be one of those believers, ranking the Harrison as a top 30 receiver in his latest position ranking heading into 2025. Sikkema has Harrison as the 26th best receiver in the NFL and in the fifth tier of his position.

Sikkema’s reasoning for Harrison’s ranking:

“Harrison Jr.’s rookie season may have felt underwhelming at times, but it was far from poor. He earned a 77.2 receiving grade overall and a 91.8 grade against single coverage, highlighting his ability to win one-on-one matchups as a true No. 1 receiver.”

Harrison is in-between players like Seattle Seahawks Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Baltimore Ravens Zay Flowers. The Cardinals receiver recorded less catches and yards than both his list neighbors, but Sikkema values Harrison’s ability to win one-on-0ne coverages and to build off his rookie year next season.

Fellow rookie wide receivers in Harrison’s class, like Jacksonville Jaguars Brian Thomas Jr. and New York Giants Malik Nabers, found themselves both in the top 15. Undoubtedly the correct ranking based on the numbers each of the rookies put up in 2024. However, it’ll add fuel to the fire for Harrison to reach the level of his draft class mates next season in Arizona.
