Pharaoh Brown Leaves Patriots to Sign With Seahawks
Kris Craig/Providence Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK

Tight end Austin Hooper signed with the New England Patriots. Less than an hour later news broke that former Patriots tight end Pharaoh Brown would not be back next season. The free agent has agreed to a deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler was the first to report the news.

Brown turns 30 this May. He has been in the NFL since 2017 when he made his debut as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders. He played two seasons with the Browns (over two stints) and three seasons with the Texans as well. The 2023 season was his only one with the Patriots, with whom he appeared in all 17 games.

Primarily known as a blocking tight end, Brown also made several solid plays in the passing game last season. He finished with 13 catches for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Pharaoh Brown leaving for Seattle leaves only three tight ends under contract with the New England Patriots. Hunter Henry , La’Michael Pettway, and recently signee Austin Hooper make up the tight end room. Matt Sokol, who appeared in three games for the Patriots last season, remains a free agent.
