Unlike last offseason, it has been hard to nail down exactly what the Philadelphia Eagles might do in the upcoming NFL Draft, especially in the first round.

However, it is very possible that they could be eyeing a tight end amid the Dallas Goedert trade rumors.

If that's the case, then A to Z Sports' draft expert Rob Gregson predicts the Birds turn to Michigan tight end Colston Loveland with their 32nd overall pick in Round 1 of his two-round NFL mock draft.

32) Philadelphia Eagles: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
With Dallas Goedert on the trade block and Philly boasting one of the best rosters in the sport, the Eagles could replenish the defensive line after the loss of Milton Williams, but why not add another weapon for Jalen Hurts and one of the league’s most dynamic offenses. -- Gregson

He played three seasons at Michigan, totaling 117 receptions for 1,466 yards, and 11 touchdown receptions in 39 career games. Loveland enters the draft after starting 10 games in 2024 where he hauled in 56 receptions for 582 yards, and five touchdowns.

Loveland, 6-foot-6 and 248-pounds, is one of the best tight ends in this year's draft class and is not expected to make it out of the first round.

In fact, according to NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlen, Loveland already has everything it takes to be a future Pro Bowler.

"Talented young tight end with the athletic ability and ball skills to become an elite talent as a pass catcher," Zierlen writes. "Colston plays the game like a big wideout, capable of separating from man coverage and making plays on all three levels. He has good play speed and runs a route tree full of branches, allowing creative play-callers to move him around as a mismatch option. His routes can be a little hurried and lacking in detail but that should change with coaching. He’s graceful in-air and catches the ball with good timing and strong hands. He will keep filling out his frame but is unlikely to ever become more than average as a blocker. Colston’s collection of athletic traits and catch talent creates a high ceiling with the opportunity to become a high-volume target and future Pro Bowler."

Regardless of whether or not the Eagles trade Goedert, they're going to need to replace him eventually. Getting ahead of the curve would benefit the Eagles in more ways than one, and another weapon for quarterback Jalen Hurts could never hurt.
