Philadelphia Eagles Defense 2025 Redraft Outlook: How new acquisitions replace the Old Guard is Key!

The Philadelphia Eagles defense last season met the expectations and then some that I laid out in last year’s outlook before the Super Bowl run in 2024. Most of the expectations were met after the Eagles inserted Cooper Dejean into the starting nickel spot in the defense. Once that move occurred, things started to fall into place for the Eagles’ defense to become what we eventually saw in Super Bowl 59.

The Dejean rise, Zack Baun being a godsend free agency signing, and Quinyon Mitchell being as advertised were all key components to that 2024 defense that are still on the roster in 2025, even though the defense lost MULTIPLE STARTERS. The Eagles’ defense is going to be a major play in 2025 once again in Fantasy. Here’s my look at the outlook for Vic Fangio’s side.

Eagles Defense 2024 Production

The Eagles defense last season recorded 41 sacks, 13 interceptions, 13 fumble recoveries, and a touchdown by now-Texan CJ Gardner Johnson, while allowing only 297 points and 4,732 yards, which was the fewest allowed in the league. That totaled 138.0 Fantasy Points flat on ESPN. The Eagles were among the top defenses in Fantasy Football last season, as I predicted before the season started, and I’m going to make the same call again in 2025: the Eagles defense will be a Top 5 unit once again, not only in the regular metrics but also in the fantasy numbers. Here are the projections for this year’s Eagles defense.

ESPN has the Eagles’ defensive unit as the ninth unit in fantasy heading into the 2025 season, with the following projections: 41 sacks, 13 interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, 11 fumble recoveries, while allowing 384 points, and 5968 yards allowed for a total of 97.33 fantasy points.

Fantasy Pros is projecting the Eagles to have 45.7 sacks, 13.7 interceptions, 13.5 fumble recoveries, 22.6 forced fumbles, and three defensive touchdowns, while allowing 344.6 points and 5501.7 yards for a fantasy point projection of 118.1. I think the Eagles’ defense is more aligned with the Fantasy Pros projection, even though the September stretch is going to be a huge determining factor of that projection. Another important thing is how Mitchell and Dejean continue their development from their amazing rookie seasons and make that Sophomore leap in the regular season.

Final Thoughts

The 2025 Eagles defense once again is going to be one of the top defenses in Fantasy to have, but a lot more people are going to draft the flashy defenses like the new-look Texans, the Steelers, Broncos, etc. But the newly looked Eagles defense is going to prove once again why they are the defending Super Bowl Champions, and fly under the radar enough in fantasy in both redraft and DFS throughout the season. Total Apex Fantasy and Bets will have more NFL Fantasy stories and outlooks throughout the rest of the season.
