Nick Sirianni’s tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles has been defined by success. The team made the playoffs in each of Sirianni’s first five seasons on the sideline, made two Super Bowls and won one. But, they’ve hit some major adversity early in the 2026 season.
After a 2-0 start, the Eagles have now dropped four straight games following their 25-14 Week 6 loss to the Carolina Panthers. This represents a low point for Philadelphia under Sirianni.
Philadelphia’s current four-game losing streak represents a first under Sirianni. The Eagles have never before lost four consecutive games with him as the head coach. They’ve had a couple of three-game losing streaks, but never four.
The Eagles have had to deal with a ridiculous amount of injury issues already this season, which isn’t Sirianni’s fault, but his coaching has also left a lot to be desired. He made a couple of extremely questionable special teams decisions in back-to-back weeks that directly resulted in losses both times, and he’s been generally unable to improve Philadelphia’s anemic offense, despite the fact that he has an offensive background.
If he’s unable to provide any answers as the season continues to wear on, his seat will become increasingly warm. Philadelphia’s offense is simply too talented to look as inept as it has throughout the current campaign, injuries aside. Sirianni has stewarded some serious success in Philadelphia, but now we’re going to see how he handles unprecedented adversity.
According to Sirianni, “everything on is on the table” following Philly’s fourth straight L when it comes to improving the offense.
“We have to do different things to get them going and score more points, plain and simple, especially there in that second half. So, everything’s on the table,” Sirianni said.
“To do the same thing over and over again and not get the results, that’d be foolish. Everything’s on the table of what we need to do to be able to put points on the board.”
It remains to be seen exactly what “everything” entails, but the Eagles desperately need to switch things up on offense, because what they’ve been doing over the past month simply hasn’t worked. The season isn’t lost just yet, but if they don’t figure out a way to move the ball more consistently, it will be quickly.
