Philadelphia Eagles receive wave of good injury updates ahead of Week 1 vs Cowboys

The Philadelphia Eagles received a wave of encouraging injury updates on Sunday afternoon as they prepare to take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season.

The first wave involved rookie safety Andrew Mukuba, who returned to full speed for the first time in two weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

"Andrew Mukuba (hamstring) is practicing today," NBC Sports' Dave Zangaro reported on Sunday.

This is great news considering there's a chance Mukuba gets the start at cornerback No. 2 opposite Read Blankenship over veteran Sydney Brown.

Another wave of good news featured star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who is also dealing with a hamstring injury. However, when Brown was asked if he would be playing on Thursday night, he made things very clear.

"Hell, yeah," Brown said, via Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Perhaps the biggest injury wave update had to do with starting left guard Landon Dickerson. Dickerson underwent meniscus surgery just a few weeks ago, but he appears to be on the right track to starting on Thursday.

"Not only is Landon Dickerson (knee) practicing today but he’s participating in FG unit too. Compression sleeve on right leg," NBC Sports' Dave Zangaro reported on Sunday.

If Dickerson isn't ready to go by gameday, then it looks like the Eagles could be leaning on Brett Toth or rookie Drew Kendall.

In more Eagles injury news, backup quarterback Tanner McKee did not practice on Sunday due to his thumb injury. It's a good thing the Eagles traded for quarterback Sam Howell to fill his QB2 role until he's healthy enough to return.
