Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Rematch Set, Report Says

The NFL is wasting little time setting the stage for a rematch of the Philadelphia Eagles’ blowout victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

According to a report from NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Eagles will travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs, in Arrowhead Stadium, in Week 2 in a nationally broadcast 4:25 kickoff on FOX.

Philadelphia demolished Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, 40-22, in Super Bowl LIX, sacking Mahomes six times with rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean returning a first-half interception for a touchdown which set the tone for the Eagles’ second Super Bowl championship in franchise history. The Eagles’ victory avenged a loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, two seasons earlier, and Kansas City will be aiming to get some of the bad taste out of its mouth with an early-season revenge win over Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Eagles Featured Prominently in Prime Time

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to be a fixture on the NFL’s nationally televised schedule and marquee matchups this season.

While the full NFL schedule won’t be released until an 8 p.m. special, the league has released several marquee games and the Eagles are featured prominently.

Of course, the defending champions will open the season on Thursday Night Football, on Sept. 4, raising the Super Bowl banner against the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys. Then, in Week 10, the Eagles travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. On Black Friday, the Eagles take on the Chicago Bears on Amazon Prime, before facing off against the Washington Commanders in a Saturday doubleheader, in Week 16, on December 20.

Philadelphia might add additional prime time or showcased games, but in the contests that have been revealed, the Eagles will be playing on a Thursday night, Monday night, Black Friday, and Saturday afternoon.
