Philip Rivers, 44, will become the oldest player to play in the NFL this season when he takes the field as the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts (8-5) against the Seattle Seahawks (10-3) on Sunday.

Rivers has not played in the NFL since 2020, but he has a huge family to keep him busy at home. Rivers and his wife, Tiffany Rivers, who got married in 2001, have 10 children and one grandchild. The age range of their 10 kids spans so many years that one of them has never got to see the longtime Chargers quarterback play an NFL game.

"I think my younger children are most excited — I shouldn't say 'most excited,' but they're excited because they don't remember dad playing," Rivers said in his introductory press conference in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Philip and Tiffany's big Catholic family started growing with the birth of their daughter, Halle, back in 2002. Their youngest son, Andrew, was born in October 2023. They have seven daughters and three sons.

Here are the names and ages of each of Rivers' 10 kids, as of Dec. 9, 2025.

  • Halle, 23
  • Caroline, 20
  • Grace, 19
  • Philip Gunner, 17
  • Sarah, 15
  • Peter, 14
  • Rebecca, 12
  • Clare, 10
  • Anna, 6
  • Andrew, 2

Their oldest daughter, Halle, gave birth to Rivers' first grandchild in 2024. Unlike her younger siblings, Halle grew up during the peak of her dad's near Hall of Fame NFL career. However, she said it never took away from his role as a father.

"He's so selfless," she said in 2019. "He's an NFL quarterback. He's doing a million different things every day, but every day he comes home and he wants to be with us. If he has one extra minute that he could do something else, he'll be with us."

One of the many staggering facts about Rivers' kids is that Halle is older than Colts rookie quarterback Riley Leonard. Leonard, 23, is now Rivers' backup with Daniel Jones out for the year due to a torn Achilles and Anthony Richardson on injured reserve.

The Colts-Seahawks game kicks off from Lumen Field in Seattle at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.
