His senior season with Pitt was cut short due to a toe injury, which required surgery. He started in the three games that he suited up for.
In 2022, Goncalves earned third-team All-ACC honors after racking up 830 snaps last season.
Throughout his time with the Panthers, he made 11 starts at left tackle and 13 starts at right tackle, finishing his career with 35 appearances. According to Pro Football Focus, Goncalves didn’t allow a sack in just under 1,000 offensive snaps. He allowed just 21 pressures and 15 hurries in the process.
While he did not perform at the NFL Draft Combine, Goncalves put together a solid performance at Pitt’s Pro Day with 19 reps on the bench, a 30 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 5.06 (u) 40-yard dash.
As rookie camps started for teams across the NFL this past weekend, Goncalves has reportedly been working at right tackle, but is expected to be a swing option and could move inside as well.
With the Colts, Goncalves will officially wear No. 71 after donning 76 with the Panthers.
