Pittsburgh Steelers added to a list that every NFL team wants to be a part of following their big moves in 2026 NFL free agency

Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan has frustrated fans at times with his overly patient nature. It cost the team Brandon Aiyuk in 2024, and the lack of moves at the 2025 trade deadline led some to push back on Khan and the Steelers' strategy.

What cannot be denied with Khan, however, is that when the week of free agency comes around, he locks in and gets stuff done. His first year on the job saw him sign the richest free agent deal in team history, last year was the DK Metcalf trade, and this year saw Khan add Michael Pittman just minutes into the start of free agency, and it served as only an appetizer of what was coming, with ESPN giving credit where credit was due.

"The Steelers took a meaningful step toward fixing their passing game by adding Pittman and signing him to an extension. The move finally gave DK Metcalf a legitimate running mate at receiver. Running back Rico Dowdle also adds depth and flexibility to the backfield alongside Jaylen Warren, giving Pittsburgh more options in the run game.
