Entering the NFL offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a quarterback problem. At this point in time, they do not have a starting quarterback on their roster.

That could be fixed by simply re-signing either Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. However, there are other teams around the NFL who could try to sign both of those signal callers.

Thankfully, the Steelers have plenty of other routes they could take to bring in a new starting quarterback.

One of those routes could see Pittsburgh look into the trade market. A new potential trade target has been suggested for the Steelers early in the offseason.

While it is not a guarantee, there is a chance that the New Orleans Saints could be convinced to trade Derek Carr. Would Pittsburgh have interest in him?

Recently, NFL insider Ian Rapoport suggested that the Steelers could be a trade destination for Carr if the Saints made him available.

Carr is coming off of a 2024 season in New Orleans that saw him play in just 10 games. He completed 67.7% of his passes for 2,145 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Those numbers don't jump off the charts.

Back in 2023, he performed much better by throwing for 3,878 yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions and recording a 68.4% completion percentage in 17 games.

This is an option that Pittsburgh could consider. At 33 years old, however, the Steelers might not see the improvement under center that they would prefer to find.

Also, there is no guarantee that Carr will even be made available on the trade market.
