For Ben Roethlisberger, life after football hasn’t faded into the backyard, but he found his new voice in his home’s basement. The Steelers legend has turned Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger Podcast into a blend of football insights, lively banters, craft beer tasting, and the most unconventional for a two-time Super Bowl champ, culinary projects.
But seems like he is now getting enough of sitting in the basement. Though he started his podcast in 2022 but with the recent announcement about his future podcast, it appears his journey of storytelling is just getting started.

From the studio to the streets. Announcing that his next episode will be filmed at the Giant Eagle Market District in Robinson is huge for him. He has earlier hinted on his YouTube channel about the new role in scouting and staying connected to the game. This public, on-the-road chapter feels like the perfect stepping stone in keeping fans close while exploring his life after football.
This is the first time that Roethlisberger is taking his “second chapter” to the streets. There is no direct evidence that he has done any specific street project. He is also very excited to commence the event. The event is sponsored by Giant Eagle and the date is picked up as October 6, 2025. The timings of the event will be from 5-7 pm, but access will be shut down at 4:30.
It was April, and the NFL draft was right around the corner when Roethlisberger eyed his future. In an episode of his Footbahlin podcast, Roethlisberger revealed that he would love to help his former team to evaluate talent.
“If the Steelers were to ask me, ‘Hey would you look at this? Would you evaluate this? Walk me through what you see here.’ I would love to do that,” Roethlisberger said.
His approach was simple that it’s not just about standing with a clipboard. He explained that he would be keeping a close eye on how a player carries himself in crucial situations. “I would love to go to a game and watch it, like a live game. Like, I would just watch that player,” he said. “Look at him when he comes off the field. Does he sit on the bench and pout? Does he go sit down, is he throwing his hands up and blaming other people, or is he like, my bad?”
Roethlisberger even shared early takes on two top 2025 picks, praising Jaxson Dart‘s “mentality” and calling Will Howard a “winner”. That mindset fits perfectly for Roethlisberger’s career. Known as a quarterback who thrived on improvisation, he might have “the eye” for spotting the next Roethlisberger for the Steelers, something that the team has been searching for since his retirement. But his all his future endeavors, it remains certain that Big Ben isn’t done shaping the game.
