Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph signs one year, $3.62m contract with Tennessee Titans

Following the expected signing of QB Russell Wilson, the writing was on the wall for tenured Steelers QB Mason Rudolph.

The veteran signal-caller spent the first six years of his career with the Steelers but per Mike Garafolo of NFL Media he has found a new team:

Mason Rudolph Joins the Titans

Rudolph was drafted in 2018 by the Steelers, serving as a backup to Ben Roethlisberger before his eventual retirement in 2021. While he struggled when given opportunities early in his career last year was a different story.

When starter Kenny Pickett went down with an ankle injury and backup QB Mitch Trubisky replaced him and was unable to win a game in his absence, the team turned to Rudolph as the savior of their season and that he did.

Rudolph would go 3-0, completing a stellar 74.3% of his passes while throwing for 719 yards and three TDs, sending Pittsburgh into the playoffs.

And while Pittsburgh was interested in keeping Rudolph around to ensure a camp battle between him and Pickett, it was widely believed that Rudoph would wish to test the market, so Pittsburgh pulled the trigger on Wilson.

The Steelers faithful will largely appreciate his efforts for the team, and the 2023-2024 season will be one everyone remembers for some time.
