Pittsburgh Steelers Receive Strong Trade Prediction Before Deadline

With the NFL trade deadline looming on November 4, the Pittsburgh Steelers face several roster gaps, but none more pressing than at wide receiver.

The acquisition of DK Metcalf has paid dividends so far, with his chemistry alongside Aaron Rodgers shining through. Yet, mirroring last season’s issues, Pittsburgh lacks a reliable secondary target for their signal-caller.

Among the potential trade candidates, the Steelers must target a player capable of contributing immediately

Jakobi Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders emerges as an excellent match, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler anticipates a move to the Steel City.

“Pittsburgh is keeping tabs on (Meyers) but is prepared to be patient, too. If I had to predict a destination right now, I’d say the Steelers,” Fowler wrote.

Fowler further notes that Pittsburgh’s interest in adding a wideout aligns with widespread reports from multiple sources.

Regarding the likelihood of Las Vegas parting with Meyers, Fowler indicates that conversations with league insiders suggest a solid possibility of a deal.

“Teams I’ve talked to believe that Meyers has a decent chance to be dealt — possibly the best chance among available wide receivers,” the insider said. “Las Vegas has received interest in the seven-year veteran, and my sense is the Raiders want a strong pick for Meyers. A swap of Day 3 picks won’t do at this stage.”

Las Vegas has every incentive to move Meyers, who is playing out the last year of his deal and appears headed elsewhere in 2026 after extension talks collapsed. That breakdown even prompted Meyers to seek a trade, a position he reaffirmed publicly just last week.

Still, the Raiders could struggle to complete a transaction unless they lower their demands.

As Fowler points out, merely exchanging late-round selections won’t suffice, and reporter Jordan Schultz indicates Las Vegas seeks no less than a Day 2 selection.

In reality, securing that level of compensation seems unlikely, leaving a fourth-round pick as the most realistic outcome for the Raiders. Make no mistake: Meyers remains a solid contributor, but his value doesn’t justify a Day 2 selection or beyond—especially as a potential one-year rental.

From Pittsburgh’s perspective, Meyers represents an ideal fit. He would slot in seamlessly as a complementary piece, backed by four seasons exceeding 800 yards, and pairing him with Rodgers could unlock greater production than anything since his time throwing to Tom Brady in 2019.

Should the cost prove reasonable, the Steelers would do well to execute the trade and bolster their underwhelming receiver corps right away.
