Pittsburgh Steelers star throws major shade at the Cleveland Browns and the target was easy to see coming

The Cleveland Browns took two swings at the quarterback position in the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting both Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Including Deshaun Watson, the Browns now have five quarterbacks on the roster. They began the offseason by trading for Kenny Pickett and later signed Joe Flacco before the draft.

As for who will be Cleveland’s quarterback this fall, it will be an open competition. That uncertainty has become a familiar story for the Browns over the years, making them an easy target for jokes. One of the AFC North’s top players wasted no time taking a shot.

“You don’t know what’s going on in Cleveland at the quarterback position,” Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward said recently. “But you still have a lot of respect for guys like [Joe] Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel — uh, how many different quarterbacks we got over there? I know [the Browns] called us a dumpster fire today [on social media], but I’m just trying to figure out how many quarterbacks we got over there.”

While the Browns may have too many quarterbacks, the Steelers don’t have enough. Pittsburgh is in limbo, waiting to see if Aaron Rodgers signs—or else they’ll be relying on Mason Rudolph as the starter. Still, it was an easy jab for Heyward, given Cleveland’s revolving door at quarterback and the lack of clarity on who their guy is.

The 2025 season will be all about the Browns finding out whether they discovered a long-term solution during the draft. Cleveland should give both Gabriel and Sanders playing time to evaluate whether either is the answer. With two first-round picks in 2026, the Browns have the draft capital to move up for a quarterback if needed next year.

Until Cleveland finds a true franchise quarterback, the jokes will keep coming—for a team that still can’t seem to solve the sport’s most important position.
