Players across the NFL just gave Tyreek Hill plenty of fuel for the 2025 season

2024 was a truly forgettable year for both the Miami Dolphins and their superstar Tyreek Hill. The Fins stumbled to an 8-9 mark, missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2021 season.

And it was a particularly ugly year for Hill, who started off the season in a strange way being detained by police near Hard Rock Stadium on the way to the season opener against Jacksonville, with video of the incident going viral on social media.

Things didn't get much better for Hill or a broken Miami offense throughout the season, as Mike McDaniel could never get his superstar untracked following a superb 2023 campaign, thanks in large part to an offensive line that struggled massively in run blocking and Tua Tagovailoa missing 6 games. Hill finished the season with 81 catches for 959 yards and 6 touchdowns, which are the lowest marks for him across all three categories since the 2019 season.

That falloff clearly affected how he is being viewed by his peers heading into the 2025 season. The NFL continued to release the top 100 players in the league as voted on by the players, and Hill came in at 47th.

That's quite the fall off from just a year ago, when Hill topped the list after leading the NFL in 2023 with 1799 receiving yards and, if not for a late-season ankle injury, could have had a shot at becoming the first NFL player to crack 2000 receiving yards in a season.

Hill drew public backlash for his comments in the wake of the team's season-ending loss to the Jets, where he said he was "out", and he's shown remorse for having taken that position. As such, there already was motivation for him to try to show that 2024 was a blip on the radar.

Now, his peers have given him another reason to try and bounce back this fall, and it's one that could have Dolphins fans appreciative if their superstar takes them to heart.
