Playmaking Receiver Labeled Cowboys 'Best Day 2 Fit'

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best offensive weapons in the NFL in CeeDee Lamb, but their offense could use a little bit of work behind him.

In a recent article by PFF's Mason Cameron, he picks the player who he thinks would be the best fit for every NFL team on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. For the Cowboys, he thinks they could draft Iowa State wide receiver Jayden Higgins to help out Lamb.

"As the search for more playmakers stretches into Day 2, the Cowboys have the chance to add a big-bodied receiver who would perfectly complement CeeDee Lamb," Cameron writes. "Higgins uses his size to win contested battles downfield at a high clip, earning him the highest outside receiving grade (89.6) in this class."

The Cowboys lost Brandin Cooks to the New Orleans Saints in free agency, so adding another wide receiver for Dak Prescott to throw to could be in their best interests.

Higgins finished his 2024 season with the Iowa State Cyclones with 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns, and he averaged just over 13 yards per reception.

At 6-4, 214 pounds, Higgins poses a big threat to opposing defenses, especially when you consider his vertical of just under 40 inches. He might not be the fastest, as he ran a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Draft Combine, he more than makes up for it with his large frame and verticality.

If the Cowboys decide to draft another weapon for Prescott to utilize, Higgins could be a very solid option if he is still available when the team is on the clock on Day 2.
